Guest guest
Is that the one that has netting and has shelves? Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Sunday, April 8, 2012 12:15 PM Subject: Re: Question from Hannibal MO  Hi, Janet-welcome to the group! I assume by " berries " , you mean things like wheat berries? They are grown more as a microgreen than a sprout, and require a different system. I like plain basic mason jars for basic sprouting, but I also use a wheat grass growing kit (I don't grow wheat, but I do buckwheat and other microgreens in it)-you can use a micro farm, Handie Pantry (sold as a solar dehydrator, but works a charm as a wheatgrass growing system) or a wheat grass kit for wheat berries. You can see all of these in the webstore at http://www.mymealmasters.com and sproutpeople have tons of different supplies and kits. Happy sprouting! > > Hi Janet, > > Welcome to our little part of the world. > Asking which sprouting system, is like asking what's your favorite movie. There are many different kinds. Mostly all good. Each of us has an opinion. Look around on line at the different devices and ask questions about each. Is price a consideration? > Quart mason jars are always great for a beginner. I used EasySprout Cups, but I use a verity of things all at the same time. This morning I have fenugreek in an EasySprout. I have pea shoots and sunflowers in little plastic bowls in the kitchen window. I have lentils ready to harvest in a colander on the corner of the sink. > In the refrigerator I have French Garden mix that has just been harvested from EasySprout cups. > I don't know a thing about berries. I don't think you can eat the plant. I am looking at the label of Ezekiel 4:9 bread. It has sprouted wheat, barley, millet, lentils, soybeans, and spelt. I don't where you would find all of those seeds. Do some research. They are out there. SproutPeople.org has most of them. > There are members in this group that make their own bread that will probable send you some recipes. > Happy Sprouting > ew > > Question from Hannibal MO > > Hi all! I am really super super new at " sprouting " . So need help and advice on which " sprouting system " is best/safe. > My goal is to sprout my organic seeds/berries and make my own breads. So I also need some advice on if I should sprout the seeds/berries together or separate if the recipe calls for a variety of seeds/berries (like Ezekiel bread). > Tks so much for your input.
