Guest guest
Probably something that the seasoned pea shooters have come across, but for me it was a new one today, and enough to make my stomach turn. I've been experimenting with a crop of sunnies grown purely in a tiered sprouter and I decided to go for it with some peas as well. I started them off in a sprouting jar then transferred them to a tray three mornings ago. So far so good, and they're developing the tendrils for shoots. Today though, they really didn't smell too good, although on first inspection the tray seemed perfectly healthy. A dig around my little sprouting peas found my finger sank into a pea shaped mass of stinking goo. There were a few of the little blighters that hadn't sprouted and instead had just turned to small green stinkbombs. Have now rectified the issue and have also made mental note to check for the non-starters in future. Is there anything worse than rotting peas? They beat the rotting buckwheat I had last week! I have much to learn still... Charlotte
