Guest guest
I probably violated the law when I stood cover when my dad's ashes were let go at the inlet and flew down the Indian River back toward his home on No. Hutchinson Island. They had sold the place (it was his wife's) and they were heading back to Ohio and he loved it there. He didn't really want to leave but he had knee and cancer problems and is wife couldn't handle him there alone. We were still working in Ohio. Well, he didn't leave Florida which he called Paradise in spite of a couple hurricanes that came through Ft. Pierce/Vero area. It was too rough for us to take his ashes out to sea so we stopped there and they seemed t fly out of te bag, whie as could be and sort of danced over the water and we could see them follow the current in an undulating line toward the south. It was like he jumped out and headed home.  We have a timeshare at Sebastian (Oyster Bay) and go there around Thanksgiving time. We used to always bank that but now we go there as there is a dialysis center right down the road from it. We like to go to the Lobster Shanty in Vero. We are crazy about the corn fritters there and it was someplace Dad took us when we were down. A couple of times he took us in his boat until he sod it. We like to visit the Indian River fruit places. it is some of the best fruit, think it is Hales where we go. There is a playhouse there and sometimes have nice entertainment to see. We spend most of the time just sitting in the living room looking out the back patio doors toward the Indian River. Sometimes go to the pool if it is warm enough. Thereis a little boat there and for $50 for the week we can take the boat out. We didn't last time. I get nervous in a 16 ft boat with big ships going by in intracoastal waterway. I certainly have a life jacket on whn I do go. There is a river near there that goes up into shallow water but I am always afraid of messing up the propeller. There are manatees up there sometimes they say. We used to go to power plant and see them but they aren't there very much anymore. Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2012 10:57 AM Subject: Re: problem with tuna and a solution  I LOVE the Indian River! I was a deputy with Indian River county for a couple of years-loved to go fishing around Sebastian inlet! > > If I had to catch it myself, I'd probably never eat any fish. I liked it when my Dad caught it and cooked it. He would go down and fish off the dock of the Indian River estuary from No. Hutchinson Island. He had a boat for a while but ended up selling it as his wife didn't want him to go out and she didn't want to go with him. I din't like going in the ocean at all but I loved riding on the Indian River. I went out on the ocean a couple of times with him in either his boat or someone else's and I was sick as a dog every time. But the river was great. That was fun. >  > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > >
