Guest guest
This is a 2-part question: 1. Does anyone know anything about super-aromatic mulch? I'm not a landscaper; but if mulch retains moisture, won't the add'l. dampness & moisture compound the already existing Sick Building Syndrome & Water-Damaged Building, further damaging the Assn.-owned Building? -- not to mention the fact that there is no vegetation to absorb the dampness, no drainage where a 1/2-inch irrigation pipe in that area broke adjacent to this Assn.-owned Building in 8/07, flooding the area, then cleaned up. The irrigation system was shut off a year ago last Spring, but this area is ALWAYS wet or damp, rain or shine, because there is NO vegetation where a humongous overgrown 5-trunk tree immediately next to the Building was removed in 3/07. The area still remains wet & worse now with the new super-aromatic mulch. I don't know if the mulch contains CCA (Chrominated Copper Arsenate) which leaches arsenic, creosote, or is 100% arsenic-free. While the aromatic mulch odor was initially rather pleasant coming in thru my Kitchen window, it seems to commingle with the rotted building materials' odors, lingering toxic pesticides mis-used inside by unit by an HOA-hired restoration co. nearly -2- yrs. ago, & other vapors emanating from the cracked slab foundation, contributing to my breathing difficulties. pati 2. Does anyone have any experience with the Oreck ProShield Plus Air Purifier that contains a permanent Helios Shield that uses ultraviolit light (UV-A) to eliminate odors & VOCs? Would this help me breathe better?
Guest guest
P.S. Forgot to provide a better overview of my environment. I live in a 2-story townhouse condo on a small man-made pond only -2- feet from the patio. Many man made ponds & lakes actually have a purpose that may shock you. They are positioned to collect fertilizer & pesticide runoff from the subdivision landscape. The theory is that this chemically laced water will be held away from the ground water from which our water supply is drawn, the water we drink. In the meantime these chemical pools, or " fake " ponds, are disguised with landscaping & yes, ducks, to give the illusion of " nature. " Most of the time wild birds (waterfowl) recognize the pollution & do not take residence unless they have no choice. And there appears to be severe over-useage of fertilizers & pesticides here. pati ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Pati Tomsits <patito12@...> moldtheseverereactor <moldtheseverereactor >; < > Sent: Sun, October 31, 2010 1:02:29 PM Subject: Aromatic Mulch & Air Purifier This is a 2-part question: 1.
