dental clinic. They didn't find something look problamatic in my son's mouth. He

had the x-Ray before. However they suggested more deep investigation under the

anesthesia, I wasn't happy, I said no.I was told that during the examination, if

they find any tooth decay, last resort filling it with amalgam, because this is

the British Dental Assoication's protocol and they obliges to follow it!I said

no,but what am I going to do, I don't know.

please, where can I take him?He already lost two teeth because I didn't accepted

amalgam but we can not dare to loose more!!This is ridiculous, I take the risk

for the anesthesia but giving no choice!

Hello !

I think they obliged to follow the guidelines...Especially if a tooth needs more

deep filling...they use amalgam...No root filling they do for the special needs

children, which is good perhaps..In the past my son had dental treatment and

they sealed his teeth with non amalgam materials..However he is a young adult

now and this is the procedure whether I like it or not! They don't give any

choices..That's what I understand...

Thank you for your response.

Dear Margaret,

Thanks..I can not prove this..I may higlight his medical problems as they

already know. This is the rutin procedure for everybody..and difficult to

change..I wonder did the British Dental Asssociation look at the use of amalgam

practice in different countries? I believe northern Europe ,Finland perhaps it

is not used anymore. My country in private care you can have whatever you

want.If there were no epilepsy and no need for anesthesia I could have tried

dental treatment in a dental clinic rather than the hospital..

Thanks..
