While one in six children has a learning problem, our schools are being daily contaminated with chemicals that actually impair intellectual functioning. As a teacher working with special needs preschoolers ten years ago in NYC, I lost 24 IQ points to the 'newer' types of pesticides in use. A decade later, pediatricians still can't test children for exposure to these chemicals because EPA and CDC see no reason to ensure such bio-monitoring of these chemicals is even possible--of the type that saw an end to the use of Dursban within indoor environments!
