Guest guest
Hello everybody, Just a quick note to let you that a (T21) is going for her cleft palate surgery this Thursday (Dec 4th). a turned 1 Nov 2nd. She was born with a cleft palate (roof of her mouth is not closed) and 2 fused fingers (index and thumb, left hand). We were told that the surgery for her cleft will take place between 12 -18 mo of age. a became the " head of the stand by list " for surgery last week and we just found out that we are going in on Thursday. The surgery is 3 and a half hours and she will be in the hospital (Sick Kids hospital in Toronto) for 4 nights (assuming that everything goes as planned). They will also have an ENT come in after the surgery is done (while she's still under) to drain any fluid in her ears and assess and put in tubes if necessary. Please think of my sweet a on Thursday. Your prayers and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. She is an amazing little girl and I love her more than words can say…. Thank you.
