Guest guest
How do I access the pictures? Donna ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Sunday, July 29, 2012 3:21 PM Subject: pictures  I posted 2 pictures in album titled micro-greens. Most are grown on STG mats. The beets and popcorn require soil. I use a variety of containers, but my favorite is the square one. I poke holes in the lid, place STG mat and seeds, then it can drain into container. Guest guest
Lucy - where are you getting beet seeds? I'm not really finding any sprouting seeds; are you using regular beet (garden) seeds? Guest guest
For storing either sprouts or micro-greens, there is a youtube video on Salad In A Jar, showing putting lettuce in a canning jar, using a vacuum sealer and storing in the refrigerator. . This works for sprouts and micro-greens also, but micro-greens I just let keep growing and keep trimming. When I think the sprouts are dry, I follow ew's hint and wrap them in a towel for a couple of hours to get them really dry before putting them in a jar. I can make a bigger variety of sprouts or micro-greens and they stay good for a week in the frig. According to sproutpeople instructions, beets and popcorn need soil. I asked if anyone had tried them without soil, but received no reply. For micro-green height, I just start cutting some when they develop leaves and keep cutting more each day. My fenugreek is about 2 " now, but the mustard is much shorter. Lucy > > I posted 2 pictures in album titled micro-greens. Most are grown on STG mats. The beets and popcorn require soil. Guest guest
To access pictures: on the main forum page, upper left has a menu: Home, Messages, Files, Photos, Links. If you select photos, it takes you to a list of albums. Guest guest
EW; What is OSH and where can I get reconstituted Coir around my neighborhood? If this is even possible? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Melody > > There are several seeds that definitely need soil. I'm not against the mats. I just think the soil does a better job of keeping the seeds/sprouts moist. > I'm having a problem with my current batch of popcorn. It keeps getting into my mouth. Won't wait to be harvested. > BTW: OSH now has coir in bags that you don't have to reconstitute like you do with bricks. I love it love it love it. > ew > > Re: pictures > > For storing either sprouts or micro-greens, there is a youtube video on Salad In A Jar, showing putting lettuce in a canning jar, using a vacuum sealer and storing in the refrigerator. .
