Guest guest
I agree. This whole " hard on the liver " concept. Where did that start and where are the statistics to back up the claim of rampant liver damage from taking anti-fungals? Dr. M never had a problem of patients experiencing that from the anti-fungals. And neither does my daughter's Cystic Fibrosis doctor. My daughter has been on them non-stop since 2001. She is a 27 year old with CF..who skis, snowboards, rides dirt bikes and has almost 100% lung function of other people her age. As I wrote before, Carol of the Aspergillus Board has been on them for twenty years and has no liver problems. While I am sure it is a risk for some, because every medication is, I have NEVER ONCE seen a study of a bunch of people having liver failure from anti-fungals. Maybe in AIDS patients on their last leg its a problem, cuz they usually die from fungal complicantions. But other than that, just seen it parroted a million times as the gospel. Where are the studies to back up that claim of a reason to not prescribe anti-fungals to immunocompetent people who have developed fungal infections? Oh wait! Immunocompetent people don't get fungal infections. ACOEM, " Except for persons with severely impaired immune systems, indoor mold is not a source of fungal infections. Current scientific evidence does not support the proposition that human health has been adversely affected by inhaled mycotoxins in home, school, or office environments. " Where are the studies to back that BS up, too? Sharon Sharon In a message dated 1/6/2011 1:00:40 P.M. Guest guest
There are more docs scattered about, but the whole fungal thing has been covered up by big biz and insurers. The pharmaceuticals and medical agencies have discredited all legitimate findings by those who wish to help. It all boils down to the cost of remediation and compensation.
