One pound must be a lot of seeds.  That is a lot for shipping.  Sure have to

figure the costs in as well as the price of the seed.  Nice if someone has it

close to home so no shipping.   I shipped a pound of something to my grandkids

(not seed) and it ran from $7.95 to $9.95 but that was in a small oblong candy

box.  So the pound isn't way off as it is probably a larger container.  Didn't

order any for us as we don't need it and it is like poison to us, even if I do

love it.  Sent for Easter.  Maybe I should have sent the money and let them

buy their own.  That is what I do for Birthdays and Christmas, too, anymore.

Made an exception when I sent my son an OSU grill cover.  He may have to hide

it though as he now lives in Michigan.  LOL.  He got undergraduate from OSU

and Masters from Mich (not state but Univ).  Big rivals.

Oops, I spoke too fast. I just checked and for one pound of mothers mix it's

$12.95 to ship. That's too pricey for me at the moment.

I'm still looking

If that is Priority shipping, then should be able to put a lot in that box for

the same price - the flat rate price.  Maybe can put several packages in a mock

order and when it comes down to postage, see what that costs.  Sometimes they

figure the shipping on the cost of the order instead of the weight, too.   I

sometimes do check to see where the break is to decide if it is worth getting

more or a little less.

well darn it anyway !.....that is just an awful shipping price.....i really

don't like complaining but when i made an order with sproutpeople, i did tell

them that the shipping prices were very unreasonable and that i had cancelled a

good part of my order because it was so high (i needed a sprouter and got the

mother's mix as part of a kit ).....although their response was polite, i still

felt that being able to order only by priority mail ( the premium rate ) is not

reasonable and sadly, i can't afford to pay a premium rate when parcel post

would do just as well and is much less expensive.....i would love to order more

from them but i just can't see doing it.....maybe i'll write them and request

that they send it parcel post and see if we can get the shipping cost

down.....maybe if everyone did, they would work with us.....peace, mary

Didn't ask me. My second favorite. Been using it for a couple of years.

Re: mother's mix / carolyn

I do not believe in coincidences. Tonight I was on Sproutpeople's sprouting

page and guess what mix I was considering buying?

MOTHER'S MIX.

I even wrote to another sprouter who I know uses this and asked her about it.

Then I come here and it's the first message I read.

I'm getting it.

lol

I can't recall right now of sproutpeople charges a separate handling fee,

but you also have to consider the time/extra materials etc that it takes

for them to package things as well are likely added in the shipping

charges, not just what the post office charges them. Yeah, I still say

ouch when I look at the shipping charges, but they are a small operation so

I can see why a little more.
