Guest guest
I do not believe in coincidences. Tonight I was on Sproutpeople's sprouting page and guess what mix I was considering buying? MOTHER'S MIX. I even wrote to another sprouter who I know uses this and asked her about it. Then I come here and it's the first message I read. I'm getting it. lol Melody > > carolyn.....mother's mix has red clover, alfalfa, broccoli, fenugreek, brown and black sesame seeds and garlic chive in it.....it is really delicate and good !.....peace, mary >
Guest guest
Oops, I spoke too fast. I just checked and for one pound of mothers mix it's $12.95 to ship. That's too pricey for me at the moment. I'm still looking Melody > > carolyn.....mother's mix has red clover, alfalfa, broccoli, fenugreek, brown and black sesame seeds and garlic chive in it.....it is really delicate and good !.....peace, mary >
Guest guest
well darn it anyway !.....that is just an awful shipping price.....i really don't like complaining but when i made an order with sproutpeople, i did tell them that the shipping prices were very unreasonable and that i had cancelled a good part of my order because it was so high (i needed a sprouter and got the mother's mix as part of a kit ).....although their response was polite, i still felt that being able to order only by priority mail ( the premium rate ) is not reasonable and sadly, i can't afford to pay a premium rate when parcel post would do just as well and is much less expensive.....i would love to order more from them but i just can't see doing it.....maybe i'll write them and request that they send it parcel post and see if we can get the shipping cost down.....maybe if everyone did, they would work with us.....peace, mary > > > > carolyn.....mother's mix has red clover, alfalfa, broccoli, fenugreek, brown and black sesame seeds and garlic chive in it.....it is really delicate and good !.....peace, mary > > >
Guest guest
Clay, That sounds really good. I like chives and sesame seeds (just raw even) though I have no idea what fenu- greek is or tastes like.   It is ordered by getting " Mother's Mix " ? Is that on the Sprout People store?  With Melody raving about her sunnies, I bought a whole #10 can of sunflower seeds. LOL. I haven't opened it yet as couldn't find coir. Now I am wondering about just sprouting without the coir if that works. I could try it. My beans stand upright. I had nothing in them as a plant medium. However, by the time I tried to taste one, it was past time as it was bitter. I don't see any reason not to put them in the ground though. I am supposing that these need something to climb on rather than being a bush bean the way they are growing. So I did wonder if sunflower seeds would stand straight up in my sprouter. Guest guest
I truly wish I could simply walk into a store and get all the organic sprouting seeds I wish to buy. Not gonna happen in Brooklyn, I would imagine. lol Melody
