Offgassing washer

I replaced my moldy washer with a new one and the offgassing was a nightmare so

after a day I returned it and bought a Speed Queen that is all metals except for

the agitator. Still offgassing! I can barely type I'm so sick. VOC's are a

particular nightmare for me-the migraines they cause are worse than mold

migraines.

Anyway, what do I do-has anybody experienced this with washers? Should I just

return it? I can't buy used because I never know if it's been contaminated. A

floor model maybe that's offgassed already?

I know my car took 6 months before I could tolerate the VOC's-I can't wait 6

months to do laundry.

Thanks, Surella
