Guest guest
Sherry,I am assuming you mean Disney World, not Disney Land but either way I am sure it is similar. We went to Disney World.Visit Guest Services when you first arrive at your first park to request a guest assistance card and a guidebook for guests with special needs. This is VERY IMPORTANT. Tell them your child has special needs and they will give you a special needs pass with up to 6 people that can accompany the child with special needs on a ride/show (at least that was how many you could include a couple of years ago). Then all of you can stay together. If you have more people with you, then you can let Sam ride twice so everyone can go.Second, ALSO very important GET a stroller pass as well!! I think you have to have your own stroller to get the pass, but I am not sure. That way you can keep him in the stroller while you wait in line. You don't have to park it in the normal stroller parking sections. This saved our lives when we when with because it made it very easy to keep up with her. It will also get you in the best seating for the shows, because they will set you in the special needs sections and you can get in before other Disney guest as well. When we went we got on rides that have over 2 hour waits in 10 minutes. It was great. For the flight, is usually very good so I did not worry too much. The main thing is take something he loves to do. So if he likes music or movies, take an iPod, iPad or computer with some of his favorites loaded (or a regular DVD player or MP3 if you don't have any of those items) and a headset to keep him busy. We love Disney and had an even better time once we found out about the stroller pass, that is GOLD!General info I googled:Read more: How to Visit Walt Disney World With Special Needs Kids | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/how_4843881_disney-world-special-needs-kids.html#ixzz24yeNRSjJOn Aug 29, 2012, at 3:47 PM, The Giffords wrote: Hello All!We have a very last minute GREAT opportunity to take our boys to Disney and I have a few questions. Is there anything safe that you can give the kids to relax them in case it's an issue?? Guest guest
Hurray! You are all gonna have do much fun. First, yes to the special guest pass. Go through the gates and go to customer service. Tell them your child has DS and can not stand in the long lines. The pas (I think) is good for the special guest and 5 of his family members. There usually is a special entrance (I remember them being near the exit of each ride). You go in that way. Just a suggestion, I would rent one of the strollers at the gate. It is a big place and if the kids don't ride in it, it is great for carrying all your stuff. Ask your doc, but I have heard patents swear about giving their child Benadryl when they fly. My guys have been flying since they were little and just love it. Have fun and can't wait to see your photos. Guest guest
How exciting! If benedryl isn't an option for you. Bring along his favorite electronic games or if you have a portable dvd player he can watch his favorite movies during the flight, I recently drove to mexico and it was 2 hours on the road my son T21 enjoyed laying back watching a movie with his big brother. On the way back he picked the movie to watch. is right about the pass go to guest services and they will type up a sheet with his name and allow up to 5 guests to ride with him. The pass is like the fastpass you go and the attendant will give you a time to return. Have an Awesome trip Donnell To: multiples-ds <Multiples-DS >; DSTNI Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2012 1:47 PM Subject: OT: Disney Trip Input! Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm very interested in this topic. We are working with the Make A Wish Foundation on a wish for . We want the wish to be for a trip to Disney World. I've never taken my kids on a plane and I am nervous about how it will go. Will they constantly want to get up and go the bathroom? Will make his " stimming " noise and irritate the other passengers? Will my other 2 kids bicker like they do at home? I like the advice about bringing entertainment like an iPad, but since there is only one, will they fight over it? Also wondering about the babysitting part of it. Has anyone ever used the babysitting services they have at the park. I don't know who's more excited about the whole thing - me or the kids!
