Subject: [] My doctor refuses to prescribe Actos...are there any

other options?

Date: Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 5:54 PM

I took Dr. Shoemaker's online vision test which indicated biotoxin

illness.

My doc gave me a script for cholestyramine (with Stevia) but I had a severe (and

I mean severe) reaction to it. Dr. Shoemaker says this suggests underlying Lyme

disease and says taking Actos first will make the cholestyramine tolerable.

Even though I gave her a brief description of the protocol, my doctor tells me

she doesn't feel comfortable prescribing Actos for an off-label use...especially

with it's Black Box warning - so I'm wondering what my options are. I paid a

boatload for the cholestyramine and want to be able to take it! I'm sure it

will help my brain fog and blurry vision.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I wonder why he recommends Actos if someone has a difficult time w CSM. I had

trouble w CSM. I went down to using very small amts and then built up like

a said. That worked for me. I'd be interested to know why if Dr S if he

tells you.
