Guest guest
I wouldn't be near as worried about cross contamination. I would be a whole lot more worried about getting there and haveing all those chemical fumes from remoldeling run me right back out the door. not long after my exposure I looked at a newly remolded apartment, well actually I didn't look at it at all, because when I opened the door the offgassing of chemicals about landed me on my ass. no possable way in hell I could have stayed there, I couldn't even stand there with the door open and look at it. see what I'm saying? this illness and new things that are still offgassing chemicals do not get along. you said your laundry room made you sick, I cant go to a laundry mat because they make me sick, it's not because of mold contamination, it's because of chemicals, fumes, and I'm talking about laundry deturgents and drier sheets, fabric softners, ect. I cant stand being around people that wear cloths washed with scented deturgents, than they put on purfume or colone too and it's horrable. what most dont understand is that once you've been injured by WATER DAMAGED BUILDING EXPOSURE, which has many toxins/chemical mixtures involved, theres just going to be many toxins/chemicals and mixtures of chemicals that your not going to be able to tolerate. I hope you can live there, but felt that you needed to be prepared to ascept that it may take many months after remoldeling before you can. many with this illness have to build homes useing green, or all chemical free products or they find they cant live in the house they just built. same goes with remoldeling. you got to know that even airing a place out is not going to stop things that are still offgassing from offgassing. you have to know that trying to live in a remolded home if there are things still offgassing is a exposure itself and with chronic exposure thats going to hurt you, not help you. dont mean to cause you more stress, I just know that alot of people dont get this and it sets them up for more suffering. I would never had relized this right after my exposure if I hadn't of gotten slammed by opening the door of that apartment that I went to look at. but, you have to realize that even if the offgassing is milder than this situation was, liveing with chronic exposure, even at a lower dose is going to at the least, make you miserable. best of luck to you, and hope you dont have any problems with this at all. be careful. > > Good idea... They had not layed the carpet upstairs yet so switched to hardwoods. Still will be smells since they are using flooring that is not prefinished... I am very fortunate this house was available. Hope it tests well. Thank you. > > My concern is cross contaminating it with the dog and our hair.. we arent taking anything else. It will be too hot for the dog outside.. ?? > > Robin
