Guest guest
I've been making Kombucha for years now, having received much advice & encouragement from this group. Over the years I have been teaching many friends & acquaintances how to make it. It's always good to keep passing on the SCOBYs. I hate to waste them. If anyone in Melbourne, Australia, would like a free SCOBY or two, please contact me directly to arrange a time to come & collect. My simple 1,2,3 kombucha making recipe: 1 litre water 2 teabags (or loose leaf tea) 1/3 cup of sugar Sometimes I use loose leaf tea & adjust accordingly. It's lovely with elderberry flowers. I'm afraid that the this heat would cook your Kombucha culture when travelling by post. Do you have any season when it is cooler (no hotter than 30C/86F)? Although the Kombucha culture is strong and healthy, high temperatures can hurt/kill the microcultures of bacteria and yeasts. I would not advise sending any cultures during times of extreme heat. with friendly greetings from cool and rainy Great Britain, Margret;-) -- +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk/family/scobygrow/home.html http://bavarianminstrel.wordpress.com http://www.hebrew4christians.com/Meditations/Focus/focus.html http://creation.com/creation-videos There is only one living model for being human.
