Guest guest
In about two week Jen begins her first meeting as a Junior Girl Scout. Last year Jen was a Brownie Girl Scout and was that as experience. The first meeting 17 so call normal girl sat in shock for two hours starring at Jen as Jen sat and stared at them stimming and flapping. The troop leader gave her speech and read from the Girl Scout handbook, but you could have heard a pin drop. At first the girls of the troop seemed be overwhelmed, but as we had meeting after meet they became protect of Jen. By the end of the year she was a Girl Scout and just one the girls. Jen bridged to juniors as did a few other girls from her troop and these other girls who bridged with Jen choose to go into the same troop as Jen. I was so very proud of all the girls that I decided to be the assistant leader to the Junior Girl Scout troop this year. Jen is not able to say the Girl Scout law nor can she say the Girl Scout promise, but she does carry it with her during the meeting. A she wore her Girl Scout vest with the patch she achieved. She achieved her patch by doing her best to complete the requirements to her ability. I attended the entire meetings with Jen and I worked with her to complete the requirements of the patches. I think it made a difference by February when Jen received her first Secretin infusions all the girls and their parents hopeful the Secretin would work. The other Girl Scouts noticed every change in Jen as she became aggressive and then began to make improvements. I have about two weeks to get Jen and Kim Junior Girl Vest ready for the first meeting.
