Guest guest
Group: Thank you for the many responses to my question. I still haven't received a definitive answer. People gave me logical explanations for all three. 1. Flies: correct according to grammatical rules 2. Flys: Plural for fly (meaning person who drives a carriage) 3. Flyes: Modern conventional spelling. As discussed, we have problems with other weight training terms (Roman chair; toe raises, heal raises, calf raises; eccentric vs. pliometric) Perhaps a professional group, such as ACSM or NSCA, should issue a position statement to standardize terminology.
