Guest guest
 I am fairly new and I'd think that a 3 seed or 5 seed group would be nice to sprout together. I like the clover, alfalfa and radish. Then adding broccoli and I can't think what the other one is is also nice. You can do it in a Mason jar with a mesh lid or get a sprouter with 3 or 5 trays and then can can put some in each tray for a series of days and have soemthing going on all the time. Melody does a lot of microgardening with sunflowers and pea sprouts. We have talked about broccoli sprouts having some anti-inflamatory power. Then there is the neat taste of onion chives, garlic chives and a few things like that. They are a little more expenive but just need a few to spark up a sprout tray.   I'll leave you to the others now as they know so much more than I do. I havne't tried the microgardens yet but hope to start on Monday. I have to start my sprouts again and need to sterilize my sprouter. I have some Aerogardens, too to grow inside (lettuces (leaf), herbs andsupposed to besome flowers but those are slow. I plan to plant some tomatoes on Monday. does a lot of outside gardening in vertical pots and container gardening. EW is an expert in lots of things. We have people on here from all over the place. Good luck to you.  Carolyn Wilkerson  To: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > Cc: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > Sent: Sunday, June 10, 2012 12:37 AM Subject: First time sportier  Hey gang About to start on this whole sprouting adventure. Just trying to figure out what equipment and which seeds I should start with. I will add that I do garden and also I'm vegan/ whole foods and make everything from scratch so I'm used to putting in some time with stuff. I'd like to grow some micro greens. So what do you recommend as a good place to start ? Deb Sent from my iPod > >
Guest guest
Welcome, Deb-glad you joined us. Many of us grow microgreens, sprouts, hydroponics, aeroponics and do regular gardening, so you came to the right place. Here is a video I made of a simple way to make microgreen sunflowers, and Melody also has a lot of videos of various methods. Here is the link to mine: Sent from my iPad --- In sproutpeople , Carolyn Wilkerson > > Â > > > To: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > > Cc: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > > Sent: Sunday, June 10, 2012 12:37 AM > Subject: First time sportier > > > Â > Hey gang > > About to start on this whole sprouting adventure. Guest guest
This is how I do it now!! Take 6 frozen bananas all chunked up. One tablespoon of peanut butter, 3 teaspoons of stevia, one big tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, a dash of vanilla, and I add a splash of milk (can be half and half, skim milk, soy milk (any kind of milk), maybe 3 tablespoons. Then add 2 or 3 ice cubes. Put lid on. Turn on, turn to variable 10, switch left switch to high. Take you tamper and PRESS DOWN HARD ON ALL FOUR SIDES. It will be noisy as h. Then when it makes a certain noise and you see 4 mounds inside the Vitamix. YOu are then done!!! lol Melody > > > > Did you see my vitamix video on making banana peanut butter chocolate ice cream?
