Guest guest
Could it be your meds?? What are you taking?? including vitamins. Do not underestimate the power of herbal remedies. They are NOT BENIGN. Don't forget.....strichnine and arsenic are also natural. Vitamin B used to make me vomit as well as a mineral supplement I tried to take. Also, doxycycline used to give me nausea. Vitamin B3 used to make me flush. I'd get all red like a sun burn for half an hour. ================ The only remedy I used was carrot/apple juice from a juice extractor. And of course I stopped taking the mineral and the vitamin b3. Guest guest
- not sure what meds you are on but MTX, prednisone and most of the anti-imflammatories cause stomach problems if you are sensitive. I know a friend on a high dose of pred. who also takes Prilovec - I'm not on that one - I deal with the stomach problems pretty well - but if anyone else is on that maybe they would post and let us know if it's been successful in helping with tummy troubles. Guest guest
I have had stomach problems for years from all the drugs for A & PA. I take Prilosec daily and it has really helped me. I take mtx, folic acid (which all should take w/mtx, currently on prednisone - hoping to go off by summer, go for my second infusion of remicade on wednesday and I take clairitin D for my allergies. Guest guest
Stomach problems can be solved by taking special coated pills that allow some medication to be disolved in your intestines. Example Naproxen is reg and Naprolen is coated. Ask your doctor if your med has a coated pill. Good luck. Guest guest
I take Prilosec for my stomach problems. Whether it will help others depends on what the cause of the problem is. It is an acid blocker so decreases the amount of acid your stomach produces. I have had stomach problems in the past and was recently diagnosed with GERD basically acid reflux. Ot started when I was battling a case of thrush and I had an acid burn in the back of my throat, Having to go for an endoscopy in may to check things out. Guest guest
Hi Kim, if you go to the Tropical Traditions web site, they talk about VCO making some people nauseous...with me, it made me just plain sick, diarrhea and all. on the web site they suggest backing up and gradually increasing. me, i had to to back to 1 tsp per day and work my way up. something that gives me the same reaction is the garden of life Primal defense (hso's, homeostatic soil organisms; see Jordan Rubin's book The Maker's Diet). it's called a Herxheimer reaction; its a cleansing reaction, killing the bad organisms in your gut and the sickness is a reaction to the dieoff. i might be wrong about what's making you nauseous, but this is my understanding. the fact that it started happening after the clay is the first hint. correct me if i'm wrong, anyone. laura > I have been having nausea, mostly in the evenings, for about three months > now. Guest guest
Kim, <You know I tried some of this primal defense a few month back also but it's hard to believe I would still be in a die off or cleansing mode a couple months later.> I've been going through all kinds of heavy detoxing for the last three years, though recently it's been relatively mild. When I got my first coconut oil (the fermented stuff from WFN) a couple of weeks ago, I had a tablespoon of it it mid-afternoon, away from meals. That night, even before I went to bed, I began belching from a huge amount of gas in my stomach, and the rest of the night I was sleepless from pain and from a racing, " souped up " brain. The next day I learned I should only take CO with an equal amount of animal fat, and when I did that (actually using 1T CO at each meal with 2 T butter) I had no problems and slept well. I'm thrilled now with what the difference I feel in physical energy (I've had CFS for over twenty years) and with what seems to be a real difference in mental sharpness. I originally ordered a half-gallon and I plan to order a gallon soon. I don't want to run out of this stuff! http://www.taichi4seniors.com
Guest guest
For nausea, if it's something I ate that either doesn't agree with me or is actually spoiled, I take activated charcoal. I bought some in bulk and mix a heaping teaspoonful into some water and drink it down. It works instantly. A.C. is a classic remedy that poison control centers used to tell people to take if they'd swallowed something they shouldn't have. It draws toxic junk to it and gets excreted through the colon. By the way, thanks for all the responses on making your own sauerkraut. Best, Nenah
Guest guest
Kim, My understanding is, it's not a once-only cleansing...you have to keep it up or it comes back. so if you take the hso's and have a cleansing reaction...you can't assume you're done. you have to keep taking the hso's on a daily basis to prevent the bad organisms (yeast and bacteria) from building back up. so i could see where you would definitely be having another reaction, this time from coc. oil, if you haven't taken any hso's in a few months. know what i mean? laura > You know I tried some of this primal defense a few month back also but it's > hard to believe I would still be in a die off or cleansing mode a couple > months later. > Thanks... food for thought. > > Kim
Guest guest
claire, i'm amazed by what you said. i had no idea you're supposed to take co w/ animal fat!! may i ask where you learned that? the stuff we don't know. sally's book EFLF doesn't say anything about that...the trop. trad. web site says nothing... i'm so glad it has been helping you...you give me hope! i'm 50, fat, and have been tired for as long as i can remember and i feel more and more stupid with each passing year (and this from someone who graduated summa in biology from college...). i'm not consistent with the co...maybe i should try your suggestion, so with every TB of co i take i'll take a TB of raw cream. thanks so much for this suggestion... any more suggestions? i so want to heal and get back to as much as possible my old self...or even better since i've been tired and depressed pretty much my whole life. bad diet from infancy. laura The next day I learned I should only take CO with an equal amount of animal > fat, and when I did that (actually using 1T CO at each meal with 2 T butter) > I had no problems and slept well. Guest guest
Hi, , <may i ask where you learned that? When I had such a bad reaction, I asked on the Primal Diet list if CO could be a strong detoxifier. I knew coconut butter was, but somehow thought the more processed oil wouldn't be. Anyway, most people on that list are detoxifying big time and know about causes, prevention, and amelioration of symptoms. And sure enough, someone had the answer for me. http://www.taichi4seniors.com
Guest guest
Yes. And for some reason, it gets worse during sleep. I wake up all hours of the night queasy, and I go from the bed to the couch over and over trying to get comfortable. Often, I get in a cool bath and wash my hair to make it cool. I LIVE on Phenergen. It's been going on for years. "Chronic Nausea." Between this, and motion related issues with fluid on my brain, it's just nearly impossible to ride in a car. I'm dreading my 7 hour drive to Norfolk next month to see a PS.
Guest guest
The nausea could be from so many things and yes, the HRT is a good bet. I had nausea when I had implants and was really sick with many other symptoms. It came and went. And it does with detox too so I can only assume that it can be related to toxins in the body from the implants whether chemial or living pathogens. Many people with fibromyalgia--very commonly diagnosed in women sick from impants-- have irritable bowel and that includes intermittent nausea. However, about a month ago, many people I knew were nauseaus off and on for weeks--it was some kind of virus. Whether it is related to your implants or not, if it isn't severe, I wouldn't worry too much about it. One of the best things I have seen for intestinal problems is Primal defense. I have seen it really help all kinds of irritable bowel symptoms and it kills of all kinds of pathogens in the intestinal track. Up until now, at least, my doc has been good about Phenergen, though I've heard from other people doc's get greedy with it -so we'll see. I go tomorrow to see what my doc's ideas are for the drive. I'm terrified! The last time I had to go very far was to a doc in Lexington, KY. It was a 4 hour drive, and by the end of the day I was so sick with nausea, vomitting, and migraine that my right pupil blew up. So, now I have a tonic pupil and retina damage. So, that's another fear with this. I'm lucky, because the damage left my right pupil only slightly larger than my left (not bad enough to look weird like most tonic pupils), but if it happens again... I fear not only the pain and nausea, but also what my pupil would do. So, everyone just wish me luck!!! I'll let ya'll know what they say to do. I'm hoping knocking myself out would be enough for the trip. Brig

I thought at first it was an ulcer, so I've laid off anything irritating. I've been taking a lot of OTC pain meds lately, maybe that's it. I've had tests run on gallbladder and appendix-both are normal. They said my liver was a little sluggish, and I've been taking Milk Thistle, which really helps me go to the bathroom-I'm a lot more "regular" than I've ever been at least! I've had this nausea for a few years now, off an on.... Same exact thing, minus the liver issue and OTC pain meds. It hurts so bad around my belly button sometimes that it keeps me up at night. It's like throbbing about an inch or two under the skin within a 6 inch circle of my naval. (And I've already said about the nausea issues.) They've also ruled out my gallbladder and appendix (I have sharp pains in that area, too, and have been to the ER at least 4 times over in the past several years.) Weird!!! Weird!!! Weird!!!
