other stuff besides mycotoxins and spores

Hi All,

Dr. Thrasher has been talking a lot here recently about there being more

than mold spores and mycotoxins, I want to share my real life example.

Actually Dr. Thrasher did testing on our house and found lots of

mycotoxins and mold but also bacteria including salmonella in the HVAC

system which no one understood how it got in there.

We had HVAC specialists come check it out and it is really sad because

we thought we were getting such a great system some 15-20 years ago when

we paid $12K (mucho dinero ) for a top of the line system with sealed

ducts, a Trane heater that they modified by taking out the fiberglass

lining, and a hepa filter. But, apparently they left something unsealed

at the bottom and the new hvac people say that the heater was sucking

air in from the garage floor completely bypassing the hepa filtration

(so the mice that move into our garage periodically when a neighboring

house gets torn apart for remodel may have been the source of the

salmonella), and also they used some kind of cheap plastic piping in the

vent to my sick son's room and that should be replaced every few years

because it cracks and then the air blows over the fiberglass insulation

in the walls.....and of course that install company went out of

business, no one to sue....

My son had stool & sputum both cultured (the stool 2x) and no salmonella

was found growing in them, but then the nutritionist at Dr. Rea's had

him do 2 different stool tests and one showed high salmonella, is

salmonella his only problem, not at all,, but maybe it is a contributing

factor.....

anyway, just wanted to share this....

Also, Dr. Thrasher & Carl---might fiberglass fragments contribute to

respiratory problems, or is this more likely in occupational settings,

and is there anything special to do about such exposures? I will of

course be asking my son's docs too...(of course I think most of us have

breathed a fair amount of fiberglass thru exposed insulation, etc. over

the years and seem ok with it...)
