Hello

I cannot recall who mentioned that regular cinnamon (like we commonly buy in the

stores) has dangerous additives in there. She recommended Ceylon Cinnamon. I am

so grateful!

I have been allergic to regular cinnamon, and opening a container of it (or a

product with a lot in it) would set off a minor asthma attack. I would have to

get some meds for my reaction. My daughter and grand-daughters love cinnamon, so

I try to bake for them. The cinnamon was always an issue.

I passed the info along to a friend who loves cinnamon the piece in the Sprout

People digest. She was so grateful to know, as she takes cinnamon for her

health. Her husband went to a nearby spice store (Penzey's), and purchased some

Ceylon cinnamon. My friend sent me a small amount in a bag to try......No

allergic reaction....no asthma!!

Also, the taste is a little sweeter, less biting, and did not make me sick.

I want to thank this dear lady who wrote this, as my friend is picking up a pkg

of this Ceylon cinnamon for me. I don't know who sent it to Sprout People.

Also, if the lady does read this thank you, would you kindly put in the

information again about what was in it? I want to keep it.

You set off a cinnamon-flavored firestorm, and two people out here are very

grateful. My daughter and grand-daughters will be also.

Thank you, thank you!

You are welcome.  I had no idea until my daughter and son-in-law in California

told me about the cinnamon.  I like the taste of the old cinnamon better as it

is stronger, though not as sweet.  However, not at the expense of taking

something equivalent to coumadin.  I found out after putting it on here that 2

or 3 people got migraine headaches from cinnamon in the stores but I think they

both knew of the Ceylon Cinnamon.  I informed someone from church whom I knew

was vegan about the Ceylon Cinnamon and she went right to Whole Foods and bought

some.  It was $6 for almost 2 oz.  I ordered mine from Spice House, I think it

was.  I'm glad you found that you could use the Ceylon Cinnamon as well.   I

can't imagine going through life without ever having a cinnamon role.  My

doctors recommended taking some cinnamon each day too.  I don't always but I

often do.  It sure is a lighter color.  Glad you are able to enjoy it.  I was

making apple crisp

in CA when my daughter mentioned about the cinnamon.  I did add more nutmeg to

it for a bit stronger taste.  If you are not allergic you can try that.  I

microplaned an actual nutmeg rather than using ground.  That was fun.  I never

did it before this year.  I am so deprived herbally and spicely. I am trying to

learn.

I just got my Aerogardens planted yesterday.  Seems strange to have the lights

on in the daytime.  i wish they had an on-off button rather than just having to

plug them in, especially when I was trying to wash and sterilize the two used

ones I got.  Had to take apart and wash, fill with 2/3 water with bleach in it

and run it through.  Then had to carry it and pour it out (unplugging) and then

bring it back and wash it out again.  Then put in water and put back in base

and plug it in.  Ran for awhile and then unplugged and dumped it outside.

Then filled with distilled water and fertilizer (liquid kelp) and plugged it

back in.  Then pushed the little plants in the holes and covered with the

plastic cups.  One in each didn't quite fit over the little labels.  By the

time I got that done it was late but we left them on anyway but turned off the

light at night.  Turned back on in the morning.

Do we need to reset for early in the morning?  Just think, in 5 or 6 weeks I

could be eating salad out of my plants -- herbs, salad lettuces and edible

flowers.
