Here are a couple of articles that specifically discuss inhalation from hand

sanitizers. Of course, the inhalation of any alcohol containing products should

be considered.

Keep your chin up as you forge ahead to lose your final 50 though. Your 30 pounds is GONE forever. Yea!I'd give the tracking a try. You might be surprised. I was.I have about thirty pounds left to lose. I need to get moving more, hit 60 grams pf protein MORE, and drink all 64 oz of water every day. I am stubborn when it comes to change sometimes. Hello , I am going to start posting., I went to post what I was eating but, I think the only way to post is to join the club. I was suppose to get a week free but, I couldn't get on. I have been traveling so much and have been in three different states since November. We are leaving Arizona tomorrow and going back to Oregon then I am flying to Pennsylvania to our daughters on the 29th. I will be back there for 35 days. so, I will take my computer and try to stay on track. I appreciate your imput. Thanks for getting back with me. I will have the additional 50 off by next year. I thought I would get it off in one year. It looks two years for me. Stay in touch. Sincerely, Robin Payette <c_bergle@...> wrote: Keep your chin up as you forge ahead to lose your final 50 though. Well she came home from lazer tag and now it is not just her ankle but also her

knee is sore and swollen. But she had a great time and is now resting with her

feet up and so glad she went. It is not to hard for me to let her do things that

I know may cause her pain in her joints because I know she will stop when she

needs to. But the hard part was letting her go where there are strobe lights

when I know that could cause her to go into a seizure. Some times I just have to

let her do things and trust that she will be ok. I just know that a seizure can

be so much more devastating and cause more problems for her and I do not want to

start down that path again.

Three others: Toni Braxton http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1077/is_2_56/ai_67531418 ...had implants removed due to problems, but then put back in and last night on Dancing with the Stars she talked briefly about her heart condition.

Janet is reported to have implants and has recently had to cancel her tour due to illness...may or may not be related, although from what I know now...most likely.

Beckman...same thing, has implants and had to cancel tour due to anxiety and other health issues.

Hi Robin. I'm new here as well. I would like to address your question about

biopsy. It seems to me that depending on how long ago the original biopsy was

taken and what the doctor is looking for now, would be the answer to the

question. Biopsy helps to determine several different things. First off, it can

confirm diagnosis. Secondly, it can determine the degree of liver tissue damage.

Thirdly, it can determine the progression/remission of your disease with and

without medication depending on the circumstance. I'm sure of other reasons as

well. As an example, in my case, my Hepatologist at Duke (Dr. Alastair &

Dr. Carla Brady) will order another biopsy after my liver is less inflamed and

enzymes have stabilized to determine the degree of biliary duct damage. My liver

was so inflamed at first biopsy, it's hard to say what is temporary and what is

permanent damage.

I don't know if this helps or not. Just thought I would add another dimension

that I didn't see mentioned.

The need for repeat liver biopsies depends on many factors. They aren't, or

shouldn't be, done casually. They're invasive and expensive.

I've had three, for good reasons. The last was incidental to another surgery in

my mid-section-- you know, while we're here (amid my innards) why not do a liver

biopsy!

Sonograms, likewise, can be literal life-savers -- but you don't do them unless

they're really needed.

I have a sonogram each year, for an unrelated condition. They look at the liver,

while they're in the neighborood.

For Robin -- well, her circumstances are special.

Now that I think about it, I guess the circumstances for each of us are

" special " in some way. Having AIH is WAY too special, right there.

Robin, also, Dr. has a web site, liverdisease.com, a lot of info

although the book by nature is more informative. When I got my 2nd edition

of her book, I donated the first edition to the library, be interesting to

find out whether they just chucked it or not.

Robin,

Haven't heard from you for a few days, hoping you all the best with your surgery, you are in excellent hands with Dr. Rand. Hopefully you have lined up someone to check in with your family from the group to keep us posted how you surgery went and your time at the hospital goes.

You'll soon be on the otherside, and healing, and working towards better health.

Tons of luck to you!

Interesting, Kathy..

J just sent me this link:

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/20/for-a-celiac-sufferer-a-new-mystery-ill\

ness/

He also had chronic candida and it may have been associated with a moldy apt.

I just hope we can clean this place out and let it " sit " for a few years and it

will be inhabitable for someone at least. I am realy frightened of losing all we

put into this house..

it was just a kneewall... oh sheesh.

I am personally glad to see that this person who appears out of no place with an

attitude toward , one of the kindest souls on the group, IS LEAVING! I read

all of that and couldn't understand where her attitude was coming either.

is very welcoming and encouraging to all the people that write in to this

group! The was uncalled for!

I don't write in often however I had to say something this time!

Robin,

Ian is in the same grade as my son....9th. Here in our district high school is from 10-12. The jr. hs is 8 & 9 and the intermediate is 6 & 7. I work right across the commons ....at the intermediate school. I had a female student with Asperger's who is in 6th grade. She is so different than my son...yet they have a lot of little things in common.

Sixth grade is the hardest I think emotional for most kids. 5th grade, my sister (a sped teacher in AZ for 25 years) is the toughest academically. I find in our school 6th grade is quite rough academically. They have a lot of classes...2 specials, Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and History. Some of the classes such as math are on block shcedule (90 min.). Science and History are on 90 min. schedules but they switch every other day. Some days my student gets a lot of homework and last week she had 3 big assignments due. In high school they go to total block schedule...4 classes a day (90 min. each). No study halls at all. In a way, the 90 min. is good in that they usually don't get too much homework . For instance, they may have English, Math, Computer class and Gym. So the only classes they may get homework is English

and Math. And, since the classes are long a lot of times the teachers will assign homework and then give them 20 min. to do it. If they don't finish then they have to complete at home. It does make life easier. My son since he was not doing well on the PSSA's gets Math and English all year long for 90 min. each. Last year he became proficient in REading but missed being Advanced by 5 points. In Math he was still basic but missed being proficient by 7 points. I hope he becomes proficient this year. i hate the state wide tests. I don't think they are fair. We waste too much time teaching the kids to pass them. And, if they are not proficient in Math and/or Reading they have to go to pathways in their senior year. That means...45 hours of after school for math and 45 hours of after school for reading. To me that is unfair and too much. Can you

imagine being in classes from 7:30 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. And, to tell you the truth...they go on a computer website and are not taught...what a waste. I get really heated up when I think about these statewide tests. We are teaching our kids to pass a test but not to think and use their brains. They push the kids to learn and then it disappears....what is that. I better get off the subject ...but one good thing...they are letting some kids in Special Ed. take a different test prepare for them...but it is a trial test so far and only a few are selected.

Anyways...if your son is not intested in girls...don't push it...lol. It will come. He will find someone who will meet his needs. My son had a girlfriend in 6th grade...got burnt and hurt and really wasn't interested in anyone for a long time. He liked girls but i think he was a little nervous. This girl is a year younger and that might be what he needs.

Robin, if you need anything ...any help with your son...especiallly going into 6th grade...just let me know. My sister is a Sped Teacher and I am a para working with a 6th grader. Just email me if you want. jrushen@.... I can try to help. I love my job and I love the kids...there are some difficult moments but I would not trade it for all the tea in China. It is so much fun for me to walk down the halls and have kids come and walk with me or say hello to me or good night. i eat in the lunch room with them...and we have our own "group"...lol. And, my student told me I was "cool"....made my day.

Jan,

Well,,,,things sure HAVE gotten better for you and your son. I remember reading some of your old posts and almost crying along with you. Sigh.

Ian, actually is in HS, 9th grade. Another son is 5th (6th next year- he's the one I've been writing about THS week...he he).

I'm shocked to hear about girlfriends with your son. Ian hasn't cared. I think he does now...just by seeing little smiles here and there when comments are made or when we're watching a show. BUt....no outwardly verbal announcing that he wants' one.

As far as acaemics, he too, is really good. If he actually tried, man, he could be amazing. I think that's the way it is with ANY teen, though, when academics aren't a problem.

With my other son and one of my daughters, they have real academic issues....and that really sucks. he he.

I pay all my kids for grades. We started this year. Maybe because Ian started HS, and grades are starting to matter more (for life).......but with he and the ones who CAN do well acedemically, we pay $15 for each A and $10 for each B. There are only 3 grade periods, so it's not like we pay by the week. Anyway, it really is a source of work for them. They know that if they put in more time, they get more $. Like life, in a way.

My others that struggle academically, we pay what we pay the ones listed above (so it's fair)....but tell them that as long as their grades don't go down for a reason such as not turning in work.......they'll be rewarded. So...if their marks still say P (progress noted) or S(satisfactory) then we tell them they've done their part!!!!!

Kids sure are different, aren't they? Sigh.
