Guest guest
the right chocolate and strawberries have a lot of antioxidants in them, but I don't know about the sesame oil. You could be detoxing, but to be sure, you should do a colon and liver cleanse and see if you get the same break out. If you do, you may have a fungul infection that is under the skin that is trying to 'escape' when confronted. Diane Diane Mackey oil pulling I've tried this 2 days so far with cold pressed sesame oil, and the following morning right after getting up my thighs are broken out in hives. Usually this only happens if I eat strawberries or too much chocolate the day before. Haven't had either of those in awhile. Is this a good sign that I am detoxing or a sign I am also allergic to sesame oil? --------------------------------- Bored stiff? Loosen up... Download and play hundreds of games for free on Games. Guest guest
Greetings Steph I use oil pulling much of the time if possible. It really works!!!! I get my mouth really good and worked over and the oil I spit down the toilet. I sometimes rinse with peroxide or hot water or vinegar...( my latest one). I spit all the first three down the toilet. I enjoy doing it when I have time and do get good results...much less candida on my tongue and less smelly breath and on and on and on! Also would like to know how long it takes etc.. Steph
Guest guest
NieeMA, for how long have you been doing the oil pullling? I wonder if it actually cures anything or if it is intended as just an aid to detoxify? Something I really need right now. I plan to get the oil today and can't wait. Guest guest
Hi Steph I've been oil pulling for a year now. I started the treatment because I had toothache, after the third pull, I was pain free. I do it every morning, for about 15mins. Guest guest
Hi Ute, A few of us at rheumaticsupport.net are trying the oil pulling as well. Some results in just a few days have been increased energy and the teeth whitening. None of us have used sesame yet, but coconut oil. I will be interested in your ongoing progress! Guest guest
Hi Jan, I want to try peanut oil next because Edgar Cayce, who recommended castor oil packs for many conditions, recommended peanut oil for people with RA. It's all an experiment. I'll stick with it for a while and see what happens. Take care, Ute
Guest guest
Hello friends, Another unexpected benefit from oil pulling to report. I find that I have less need for heavy foods. I eat pretty light, but that doesn't always feel satisfying. Having something as rich as oil in my mouth for periods of time seems to trick my food craving sensors into thinking I already had it :-) Take care, Ute

Guest guest
Hey UTE, I thought it was just me but I don't have this need for sweets like I did before. I'll let you know if this continues. I have been doing it for 5 days and just used the sesame oil today. Before today I only had coconut. My hubby thinks it's a crock but it can't do any harm :-) even if it is not what its supposto be. Cooky Hello friends, Another unexpected benefit from oil pulling to report. Guest guest
Hi Cooky, I figured this one was easy to do and cheap. I have tried many things, but this one actually shows me some immediate results. I can't vouch for all the benefits, but I like the side effects, so far. Also, it is a long established Ayurvedic technique, not just something someone figured out recently. Guest guest
Kathy, I have not started the oil pulling yet, although I will as I have read too much good about it to ignore it. One thing that seems to be important is that the oil is cold-pressed which canola oil is not.... Through my readings I keep coming up with cold pressed sesame and sunflower oils as the best to try. Coconut oil is a really good oil and often cold-pressed but I have not seen that recommended. But any oil that is not cold-pressed should not be used. I have jsut started learning about the different oils and there is a lot I had no idea about! Rhea > > I am attempting to try oil pulling, right now I have not been able to find the correct oil so Ive just gone ahead and used canola from the food store. So far I dont see any difference except that i now have caught a cold (probly unrelated as I drive a school bus) I do have trouble getting it into my schedule, when they say to do it before eating, as i leave very early for work. Right now with a cold i may not do it cause I cant breath out of my nose!!!!! Kathy > >
Guest guest
Could someone send the reference link or site links for oil pulling info? I must have been bouncing when the original info came through and getting in on the tail of this thread is really confusing.... Guest guest
PH ~ No, it isnt bad swishing for that long. Just sit and relax while doing it. Listen to some music you like while you do it. I always find that relaxing while doing something like that is best. Hugs DedeSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Is it hard to swish for 20 minutes? That seems like an eternity considering I use an herbal mouthwash where I only have to swish for 30 seconds and give up after 15. I wasn't going to do it so much for my teeth but for overall removing toxins. Dede, I'm so impressed. Seems like you've tried everything. - PH > > Yes, and I like it.........my father does it as well > and his teeth are much whiter ! > I do it mainly cuz of my teeth, but anything > that is easy is worth doing. Guest guest
Sue,Good question. It seems like the advice is mixed. Some sites recommend brushing before oil pulling. Others advise to wait an hour after to brush. Some have recommended tooth brushing with coconut oil. Two sites recommend gargling, but more sites say DON'T. I haven't tried any of it, but plan to. http://www.onlineitools.com/nl/nl-output.php?nl_id=10244 & bus_id=2213 & plain=0~ PH >> I hope this is not a stupid question But do you clean your teeth after as> normal??> > > > Sue> > > > _____ > > From: [mailto: ]> On Behalf Of perfecthealth68> Sent: 29 September 2007 21:16> > Subject: Oil Pulling> > > > Hi All,> > Has anyone tried this? Guest guest
This sounds pretty interesting! I can vouch for the fact that using oil to brush your teeth (called Tooth soap: http://drbenkim.com/toothsoap.htm ) will result in better dental exams. Both my husband and I were told by our dental hygienist that our gums looked much healthier and she didn't know what we were doing differently. I had used my homemade toothsoap (using coconut oil, essential oils and baking soda) for the previous 6 months. So, this works. Guest guest
I saved it - so I could go back and investigate after more feed back was given. K -- rheumatic oil pulling Hello friends, I recently came upon this Ayurvedic technique I never heard of before. Within a few days it came to my attention from several unrelated sources, so I thought I check it out. Since it is fairly easy to implement, and inexpensive to boot, I thought to give it a try. The idea of being able to detox that way is attractive. I have only done it for one week, so I can't report a miraculous cure yet ;-), but what blew me away was that after just a couple of days swishing with sesame oil twice a day, my teeth became markedly whiter including the tooth that had discoloration from the Minocin!!! I'm impressed. My teeth feel also very clean. Relating this to the recent conversation about root canals. It may be a good practice for those of you who have root canals that don't seem to give you trouble (that you know of, yet). Off course I wouldn't mind having the other benefits, too. It says that Dr Karsch cured himself of arthritis. I'll let you know how it goes :-) Take care, Ute http://www.oilpulling.com/ http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_pulling.html
