Guest guest
I do it every day. The best way to see results is to do it first thing in the morning (empty stomach) for 15 minutes. Supposedly all the blood circulates through your body in 15-20 minutes. It's best to swish actively, vigorously. I pass it under my tongue and swish side to side mostly. This will help those facial muscles. I spit the oil (I use refined sunflower oil - I can't find unrefined sunflower oil) into the trash can when I'm done, because it gets pretty smelly. I have noticed that for a while, months probably, my submandibular glands were swollen, but then they slowly went down in size. Those are salivary glands. I've never had metal fillings, and I only got a few tiny composite fillings last year. Nothing dramatic has happened to me, but i had great dental health before it. I keep doing it because it cleans out my mouth in the morning like nothing else can. I like it beyond simple mouth cleaning, though, and I can't name exactly why. It's pleasantly addictive (though I can live without it with no withdrawal problems). Coconut oil is good, and I believe has a slightly different effect, but I don't like using it up for oil swishing. Olive oil, though, can turn your teeth yellow. Guest guest
I do oil pulling maybe every other day, average. Haven't noticed any changes except that my mouth does feel so very CLEAN, and that's good enough. Been using that beautiful expensive coconut oil, which makes it very pleasant... Only problem is, it looks like it must be causing new lines around my 47-year-old mouth. I've been sort of stretching my lips into a smile and holding my finger in front of my mouth, hoping that will prevent any more new wrinkles. I still have a bunch of metal fillings and some metal on the top of a cap, on one side of my mouth. It sounds like the oil-pulling may be pulling more of that metal out, and I need to figure out what to replace that cap with. Maybe I should quit the OP until I get those replaced... If you are new, welcome to our group. Here's the best oil pulling article, by Bruce Fife, expert on coconut oil: http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/article%20oil%20pulling.htm Since thrush indicates you have candida overgrowth mainly in your digestive system and possibly other areas as well, you can't cure it by direct treatments, althoughg treatments may help alleviate some of the discomfort in your mouth and oil pulling will pull out toxins. Candida can only be cured by building up the immune system with mainly " proper nutrients, " and by eliminating toxins, foods and drinks that feed candida (they also feed bacteria and cancer), etc., which is what my program is all about. The reason you get healthy is because you are providing your body with what it needs in order to be healthy, according to Nature's Laws on health. I suggest you read How to Successfully Overcome Candida, so you understand how candida occurs and what you need to do and why. Guest guest
Hi , I just wanted to let you know that I am a former vegetarian and I struggled a lot with this diet in the beginning as well. I knew that I had to eat this way and was in denial for years. I, of course, kept getting worse eating that way and had to finally come to the conclusion that I needed to do something about it. Before I started on this program, I couldn't bare to walk through the meat section of the grocery store, my aversion so strong. But after many tears and nightmares, I finally took the plunge. I don't regret it for a minute! I feel better than I have in years and I secretly enjoy eating fat! Okay, yes, sometimes it makes me feel queasy, but that's just part of the die off. If you don't love eating meat, just find the foods that you *do* like. For example, I really salmon, so I eat that rather often. I also like slow-cooked meats, so I use the slow-cooker a lot. In the beginning, I ate pureed soups a lot because I didn't really like the texture of the meat. Perhaps that is something you can try. It's also pretty easy to add coconut oil to soup without it being too overwhelming. Why are you doing oil pulling? The reason I ask is that it's not 100% necessary to do it, so if it makes you feel really bad, maybe you should hold off on it and do it later when you can tolerate coconut oil better. If you add oil of oregano to the oil for your oil pulling, it will increase your die-off and might make you feel even worse. You wouldn't add oil of oregano until you are up to 6Tbsp. of coconut oil per day. Good luck and hang in there. Things will get better. > > I was wondering if anyone has experience with oil pulling? I tried it this morning with coconut oil and was sickened all day. <snip> I would appreciate encouragement, tips and etc. I am going to try oil pulling again tomorrow with olive oil instead. Maybe it will take the yuck factor down. Also, I was wondering if adding something such as oil of oregano to the olive oil would help or contradict the benefit of it. > Thanks so much -- >
Guest guest
- I am a former vegetqarian and do oil pulling. I would agree with . If I was you - I would concentrate first on getting completely on the program and then do oil pulling later. made some good suggestions about how to start eating meat - the texture of meat use to really bother me - so pureed meat with soups or vegetables would be a good way to start and add butter/coconut oil, sea salt - very tasty. I also ate a lot of eggs in the beginning - made different ways and added different vegetables. If you start out slow your taste will change and you will feel better. > > > > I was wondering if anyone has experience with oil pulling? I could not stand the feeling or taste of the oil all day. Today I tried it with organic olive oil, and it was better. I buy two brands of coconut oil, and find the taste of the Tropical Traditions to be very different from Wilderness Family. > > If you add oil of oregano to the oil for your oil pulling, it will increase your die-off and might make you feel even worse. You wouldn't add oil of oregano until you are up to 6Tbsp. of coconut oil per day. I don't know how bad the dye-off is. I don't have symptoms. I do struggle to get the 6T a day ... I just don't know where to put it all ... now that the taste is getting to me. I was also wondering if it counts at all to rub coconut oil into the skin? I have been using it as a body oil for about 6 months now (ever since I realized they don't make lotions without chemicals in them.) If putting something on a baby's feet brings stuff into the baby's body, I wonder if putting 3T on my legs, back, arms and stomach counts for 3T (having allowed it to absorb before getting dressed.) > >> > to the olive oil would help or contradict the benefit of it. .... also still wondering if adding oil of oregano to the oil pulling is a good idea, even if it would be later on. It has been good for my skin sores. Thanks! --
Guest guest
Hi , Do you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth after doing the oil pulling? This might also help to reduce the oily residue in your mouth. I don't see a reason why you couldn't use a drop of oil of oregano with your oil, just be sure that you wait until you are able to tolerate it (i.e. - that you are up to 6Tbsp./day). It's pretty strong tasting, though, so you might find it painful to swish around your mouth for 20 minutes. > > > > > When I say that I was sickened, it is because of the icky oily feeling of my mouth. I am interested in this technique because I have cavities, amalgam fillings and no dental insurance. I do not want to have any teeth pulled. My main issue is fillings that need repairing. Guest guest
Well, first of all, sunflower oil isn't part of Bee's candida program. It's always best to use the best quality oils as possible and those that are part of the program. Even if you're not swallowing the oil...you are still absorbing it. Both VCO and EVOO are helpful to overall healing. This message below from Bee to Marissa, post #75208, doesn't reference sunflower oil specifically but it is good info why other " seed oils " are not ok for oil pulling: " +++Hi Marisa. Only use unrefined coconut oil for oil pulling. Of course any nut or seed oils wouldn't have been properly soaked and dried prior to making the oils, so they should only be used in very small amounts, and they are also high in omega 6 when we get plenty from our diet and trying to balance it out with omega 3. " I also found this link posted by Bee, saying she liked this article about oil pulling better: http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/article%20oil%20pulling.htm I hope that helps, Jackie > > > Hi , > > > > here's a link for you: > > http://www.healingcancernaturally.com/detoxification-oil-pulling.html > > > > Only use coconut oil or olive oil to oil pull. > > > > Jackie
