Guest guest
I have a new roommate and can tell she's got a candida problem. She has so many health problems I recognize. She's taken plenty of antibiotics in her life. Just recently the dentist put her on antibiotics for an infected tooth and she became very weak and sick. Sick to her stomach and diarrhea. It's been a week since she took them and still has diarrhea and not recovered. I recommended probiotics for her gut and charcoal for the diarrhea. So I definitely think it's the antibiotics that are making you sick. When you are done with them take lots of probiotics to replace what the antibiotics kill. Maybe some antifungals would help as well, like raw garlic and olive leaf extract.
Guest guest
I had pneumonia and had no choice but to take antibiotics for 10 days, after the 5th day of feeling exactly like the way you just described I said the hell with it and stopped taking the antibiotics. It took a few days but I finally started feeling better from both the antibiotics and the pneumonia. If I were you I'd definitely avoid anything that contains sugar, all your doing is prolonging your recovery. > > I started on my own doctors protocol Monday of 3 different antibiotics. > Now I feel pretty crappy. One is the nasal spray from Hopkington`s pharmacy but the other two are stron anti biotics. > I don`t know if its the antibiotics making me feel so ill(weak) or the fact that I have been cheating and eating Christmas cookies. I was cheating before the meds and didnt feel this way. uhh... > Does anyone have any thoughts on this? > > Thanks in advance for any imput. > > nne >
Guest guest
Antibiotics are nasty things and when you are already weakened they can really do a number on you. That being said, depending on what you are fighting, they may be necessary. My Mom and daughter both have a tendency towards urinary tract infections and both are very anti-drugs. Good for them except when my daughter decided not to treat a recent UTI she ended up in the hospital. It's a tough call, I know, but you have to have a sense of the pros and cons. Tug, I know you can get antibiotics without sugars (my mom is diabetic and gets all her drugs without sugars). Is that an issue for you? Also, stopping mid treatment is not a great idea (although I get it, believe me I do)it allows your body to build up bad resistance to sometimes necessary antibiotics. > > > > I started on my own doctors protocol Monday of 3 different antibiotics. > > Now I feel pretty crappy. Guest guest
Surella I'm sorry I was referring to Roseanne eating Christmas cookies. My idea of eating to much sugar is eating more than two pierces of fruit a day. Now I'm eating grapefruit and fuji apple, I tried green apples but they tasted awful. > > Antibiotics are nasty things and when you are already weakened they can really do a number on you. Guest guest
I have never tried raw garlic as an antibiotic for pneumonia, but I do know that raw garlic is a powerful antibiotic without all the bad side effects. In fact, just the opposite, garlic is also anti fungal, anti microbial, anti viral, etc...... You have to take at least 3 raw cloves a day and I have done that many times with excellent results. For pneumonia though you might have to take even more every day, but that's what I would try if I had pneumonia. (Or at least what I would have tried in the past when I could handle garlic. Now that I am so intolerant and reactive I can't handle the sulfur in garlic at this time. Is it like that for all MCS people?)
Guest guest
Sorry that I don't have an answer to your question, though all I can say is that my doctor tells me that when I feel crappy on antibiotics, which is pretty much every time I have to take them, it's a herx reaction. They do have their own side effects though. What I was wondering is what your symptoms were that prompted a nasal culture? I went to Mayo, but my sinuses weren't inflamed at that point so no culture was done. The ONE time I didn't have a sinus infection was when I had my appt. Grrr. But it's not as though I don't constantly have tearing eyes with rotation of other symptoms--one week, cough, the next week, sore throat, the next week, chest pain. I doubt it's a virus, as I just never got sick prior to living here. I am a very isolated writer who doesn't get out much. Anyway, if you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it. > > I started on my own doctors protocol Monday of 3 different antibiotics. > Now I feel pretty crappy.
