storage unit for non-moldy items?

Hi all,

We're hoping to put our house on the market and the realtor suggests putting

some things in storage to declutter the house. These items are not moldy, but

since I'm very sensitive to mold I'm worried about renting a storage unit with

mold left from the last renter's belongings.

If we do it, I'd get a temp-controlled unit and try to clean it first. I could

also lay plastic on the floor and encase everything in plastic bags. This seems

reasonable, but I still have a huge fear of doing it because I've had 2 bouts of

full body hives this summer from 2 different friends' houses.

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts, if this is too risky or if it seems

like the risk can be managed.

Thanks,

Amy
