I've read that burdock, red clover (both are in Hoxsey), milk thistle (silmarin), and dandelion help detoxify the liver and are anticancer. Chlorella (algae), garlic, kombucha, acidophilus, N-acetyl Cysteine (NAC) (which is converted to the anticancer amino acid L-glutathione), and enzymes are also powerfully detoxifying and anticancer. The enzymes most recommended for people w/cancer are pancreatin (I've been told Wobe Mugos/Wobenzym is the strongest and best brand), bromelain, and CoQ10. > what to eat Oranges, tangerines, broccoli, cabbage-family foods, and Omega-3 fish oils are reportedly detoxifying (and recommended for cancer patients). It's my understanding that juicing and many other detox measures release the toxins stored in our cells, but they may then accumulate in the liver. Coffee enemas are extremely effective in releasing the toxins from the liver. Thus, intensive juicing and doing other intensive detoxing w/o cleansing the liver can be dangerous. Accordingly, coffee enemas are a crucial component of Gerson therapy and the / nutrional-metabolic therapy, among others. I believe coffee enemas involve some minor hazards, at least if used improperly; accordingly, if I had cancer, I would probably use them but would consult a health practitioner about them first. There's also a good homeopathic liver detox (as well as liver-detoxifying herbs), but I don't know how well herbs/homeopathy compare w/coffee enemas. Please let me know if you'd like more info/details on any of the above or names of books that discuss detox for cancer patients. Natures plus brand is the only pancreatin that has all of the right stuff. I'm not a doctor, however I've done extensive research on behalf of my mother, who has cancer in three organs, liver, pancreas, & lungs. Guest guest
pat- i just cured myself of level III colon cancer (with suspicion of spread to the liver) with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)- mainly Qigong. if there's ANY way you can get to a qigong practitioner, i would personally strongly recommend it. they couldn't believe that my cancer was gone after just 5 months! i practiced diligently every day. my practitioner's website is at http://www.qigongmedicine.com. there he lists teachers who he has trained. make sure you contact a MEDICAL qigong therapist. (there are 2 other brances of qigong- martial and spiritual). i wish you the best of luck. contact me directly if you'd like my website URL where my full story is published. -dianna On Wed, 10 January 2001, Patti4358@... wrote: > > please e-mail me all the info you have on detox for the liver...i alreaady > take milk thisthile and dandloin .is there anything else i can do >? i have > advanced liver cancer and they said it is too late for surgry too late > for chemo.too late for radiation...anything and everything will be helpful > to me .....thanks ...pat. > > Get HUGE info at http://www.cures for cancer.ws, and post your own links there. Guest guest
Patti: Currently my mothers cancer in her pancreas and liver have not increased in size, however the cancer in her lungs has slightly worsened. She is scheduled for her first Chemo treatment on Thursday, where still doing all of the holistic as well. It's amazing how little the doctors know about how to treat cancer. That's why its important to belong to a group like this, you can ask questions and sometimes get logical answers. I hope all is well with you, Peace & God Bless. Guest guest
Patti, just an on looker on the list, but I too HAD liver disease, a 4 x 2 cm plus two small 1 sm lesions. Also bone mets. I am on chemo (Taxotere) which I'm getting ready to stop. I was on Taxol, but unresponsive, and disease spreading quickly. I completely changed my diet (which I believe God sent me this group and knowledge from books). I focused on liver disease because I believe that would be what would kill me. I started juicing 3 times a day, 80% carrots, 10% beet, and 10% dark leafy vegetable. The beet essential for cleansing the liver. Cut all chemicals and preservatives out of your diet, milk and animal products. Supplement your diet with flaxoil and cottage cheese, milk thistle, dandelian root tea, schizandra berry (proven in Europe to promote regeneration of the liver), ginger, echinacea, essiac tea, and your vit C, etc. They changed my chemo to Taxotere, which is not much different than Taxol, so the Dr is quite surprised that the response was so good. But within two weeks, the large lesion in my liver was just scars, and the small ones were not to be seen. Also the bone mets showed signs of healing. My markers have continued to drop and remission is just around the corner! Now we won't know for sure if it was the chemo or the diet, but the response to the " sister " drug is still a surprise to the Dr.???? Of course she gives no credit to the diet. So, destress your allready stressed liver, feed your body clean food, take your supplements. And the juicing is vital, especially the beet. You are getting mega-vitamins from the food (juice), targeting your liver, and promoting regeneration. Your liver even though it is sick, can heal and regenerate new liver. I can't believe they want to cut it out!! Surgeons really like to cut on us! The problem I face now, is now that the bone mets have healed, I had tumors in my spine and am getting " strained " from weak bones in that area. Anyone have any suggestions on rebuilding bone? This is very scary as it is in my back. Also, big surprise, but the Dr insists that I should remain on chemo, indefinitely. She is convinced that the cancer will return, and that I may not respond to the drug like I have before. She has lowered my doses, but I don't desire to be on chemo, especially after all I've seen on this list. This is very frightening, as we all know this can return with a vengenance. At this point, I am trusting God to lead me in the right direction. She has also advised me to go on state disability and chemo and cancer will be the rest of my life. I am not accepting of this, and plan on returning to work, and a normal life with my children. I too, would appreciate any comments and support. In Gods hands, Christi Re: Re: detoxing > i believe the most inportant thing in this trial is the faith and trust in > god and jesus , maybe they are guiding me to this , i dont know, but the > human mind is more powerful then you know until you have to experience it > in the time of need and help for yourself , time will tell on this one as i > dont think anybody has tryed this out on terminal liver cancer but me, if > they have please write and tell me as i need all the help i can > get..prayers and love to all of you ,keep the hope within you all........pat. > > > Get HUGE info at http://www.cures for cancer.ws, and post your own links there. Guest guest
Christi, Follow your heart! God will not let you down, especially when you are seeking Him for the answers. I have learned so much these past 6 years that my mom has battled cancer, and one thing I am sure of...chemo is not the answer. It is a quick fix. Juicing, supplements, flaxseed oil and cottage cheese, these are things that are building your immune system, to fight the cancer the way God intended for our bodies to be able to fight off disease. I have also heard about coffee enemas and that they work specifically for the liver, you can find out more about them by looking up the Gerson institute on the web. I'm sorry, I don't have the address. God is with you and He will protect you. He will also give you the wisdom you need to make the right choices. May He bless you with good health! Guest guest
, " Hello " . When you said " other has said my bad is not so sweet smelling " I am assuming you meant to say " breath " ? If so, I highly recommend chlorophyll as it's good for all body odour and assists in better breath. Chlorophyll is like the life-force of all plants. The only problem may be (and I'd love any feedback on this) is that the one bought in health food shops is normally derived from alfalfa which is an AVOID for Type O's. Does anyone know if this derivative is ok? detoxing hi everyone, my name is karen.I've been introduced to this way of eating two months ago.Boy, I must say ,what a whole new world for me.I did not eat meat, one of the main reasons being i could not tolerate the taste..(guess what i am?).....yup an o!!..I am very passioned by this way of eating,I can see where all my life eating avoid foods have done to me,extra weight gain, unmanageable asthma, for the down side,I am having unbelievable gas and recently my significant other has said my bad is not so sweet smelling,(there I said it,lol)..Is it the change in my eating?...specifically the meat..could it be the post nasal drip? Guest guest
Hello Jane, I can sympathize with your " windy " condition! I too have had (and still do have) similar reactions to the added meat in my diet but have found that if I am very careful to keep food combinations very simple, I do all right. Things have improved greatly since the begining of this diet for me. I am a non-secretor (perhaps you are as well?) and quickly realized that this required that I be particularly attentive to my food combining as well as the quantity of food that I eat. Exercise helps alot in making this transition time easier. Also try the DGL licorice; it help me alot with the digestion but it takes a little getting use to. Good luck and chew slowly! in Oregon Re: detoxing > > Hi karen: > > I found with the shift to eating more meat--which was the opposite to what I had been doing--I had to really pour on the enzymes to help digest all that meat fibre. > Jane > zinfi31@... wrote: hi everyone, my name is karen.I've been introduced to this way of > eating two months ago.Boy, I must say ,what a whole new world for > me.I did not eat meat, one of the main reasons being i could not > tolerate the taste..(guess what i am?).....yup an o!!..I am very > passioned by this way of eating,I can see where all my life eating > avoid foods have done to me,extra weight gain, unmanageable asthma, for > the down side,I am having unbelievable gas and recently my > significant other has said my bad is not so sweet smelling,(there I > said it,lol)..Is it the change in my eating?...specifically the > meat..could it be the post nasal drip? Guest guest
Take it easy Vicki. One can have any of the symptoms you described. Drink some Ginger/slippery elm tea. How much flax are you taking? When sick, try helping the body be eating raw only. (fruits/veggies) while getting better. You know that we are not qualified to " " rx " " and it is especially hard to go by symptoms. love detoxing Can anyone tell me what are the symptoms of detoxifying? Since Saturday I have felt like crap.I feel feverish, headachy,I don't wanna eat and when I do it wants to come back up and usually does especially meat.I have been drinking protein shakes in the am for the last 4 days and maybe I am adding to much ground flax because I now have diareaa.I am taking a digestive enzyme and its not helping.I just want to go back to bed.I don't think its a virus because there are times in the day when I feel fine but not for long. Also I might have a yeast infection and I have only had 2 in my entire life. Guest guest
I am in Kentucky.I have felt this way before and thought that I was pregnant but I was not. I just got back from my naturopath and he said that I am not digesting my food properly and my adrenals were not doing what they should be doing. I took some of the supplements that he gave me and I already am feeling better. He also said that I might be detoxing also but still the bad toxins are building up and not " exiting " the way they should and told me to get some naturalax from my HFS. I fully believe anything this man tells me too, especially when he is 73 and doesnt look a day over 50! Hope you get to feeling better!
