Guest guest
in Seattle (Am Lung study) established years ago, and since confirmed by others, that flooring esp carpets is a repository of accumulated dirt, pesticides, heavy metals, and whatever else is on our shoes. While it is true that chemicals are in the air it doesn't mean they are safe. Also, the entire mixture of all the pollutants must be considered, not each in isolation. That said, you may want to consider some sort of foot covering because removing shoes only helps, it doesn't prevent. Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC (fm my Blackberry) [] Toxinc brought into house on shoes I have been trying to convince my husband that people should take their shoes off prior to coming into our house to avoid chemical being brought in and being on the floor. I do not wear sox or shoes most of the time and I feel like that I am just getting toxins from the chemicals that people bring. He thinks I am crazy. He said there is chemical in the air and that is not any worse than being on someones shoes, still going to be exposed. Tired of fighting the battle if you know what I mean. Guest guest
remind him that the japanese do this--a very clean culture, same thing in Hawaii, we do this in our new space, we have radiant heating, whatever gets tracked in gets volatized, and dr. rea talks about this in one of his books. what's in the air is in the air, you can try to deal with that with air filters, but what gets tracked in includes dirt (which is a tactic you can use, no shoes saves on housecleaning time and effort if he doesn't buy into the toxins idea), germs (think all the dog poop and pee you walk over that is residue on the sidewalks etc...), pesticides, fungicides, and the asphalt all has toxic sealants applied which wear off and get into the air and onto your shoes and your doggie's paws....I even wash the dog's paws after any walk outside of the immediate yard in our place, the dog doesn't like it either! sue v >I have been trying to convince my husband that people should take their >shoes off prior to coming into our house to avoid chemical being brought >in and being on the floor.
