Have you ever thought that such large resistances and such explosive and repeated movements are liable to make a damaged cable snap in a pulldown or row station? While I am not as strong as you in the pulldown - yet! - I nevertheless use serious resistances in this exercise as well as in the cable row. I also explode quite violently through the positive, and have sometimes worried that if cables are not replaced regularly at a commercial gym per manufacturer recommendations (this is Mexico after all), subjecting an old and potentially worn cable to such large stresses could one day cause me to break the cable, fly off the seat, and crash ass over teakettle on the gym floor and break my neck. That said, I have not broken any cables, but have bent one of the pulldown bars, (used for wide grip) and found a couple S-hooks beginning to straighten, that were replaced with higher value replacements.
