Guest guest
Dear CIAQ Subscribers: For your information, the following announcement was provided by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff. A new " one-stop " webpage has been developed for manufacturers and distributors of air cleaners that provides easy, direct access to the ARB air cleaner regulation, and all of the forms, instructions, and information needed to comply with the regulation. The new webpage also explains pending amendments and provides links to a revised certification application form and its updated instructions; the revised form should be used for all new applications initiated after April 28. Manufacturers and distributors should visit the new webpage at http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/aircleaners/manufacturers.htm to assure that you have all of the information needed to comply with the regulation. As noted on the webpage, manufacturers are subject to two key compliance dates. The first was October 18, 2009 when documentation was due to ARB to confirm that each manufacturer had notified their distributors, retailers and sellers about ARB?s regulation. Any manufacturer who has not yet submitted their documentation should contact Lum immediately by phone or email as indicated below. The second compliance date is October 18, 2010; by this date all air cleaners sold in California must be tested under the appropriate UL Standard and certified by ARB. Manufacturers who have not yet submitted their air cleaners for testing and certification should contact by phone or email as indicated below to request application numbers. General information regarding the regulation will continue to be available on the air cleaner regulation top page at http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/aircleaners/aircleaners.htm. Inquiries concerning the regulation may be directed to Mr. Jim Behrmann, at (916) 322-8278 or jbehrman@.... For information regarding the notification requirement and submittal of documentation, please contact Lum at (916) 323- 5043 or slum@.... For information regarding the testing and certification process, please contact at (916) 323-2190, or rjohnson@.... If you have problems accessing the web pages, please contact Lum at (916) 323-5043 or slum@.... ------ Thanks, Philip Jalbert CIAQ Executive Secretary CIAQ@... www.epa.gov/iaq/ciaq
