Guest guest
I just wanted to let you know about our experience with our daughter who is a non PID kid. was born with a duplicate renal system. She spent the first couple of years with intermittent high fevers with vomiting. She grew slowly but did eat well overall. At about 6 she became very ill with monthly fevers lasting 1-2 weeks and intermittent increase in her SED rates up to 60-80. They were not sure what was going on except that she was having chronic tummy aches where she would lay on the floor and crie hysterically and then it would go away and she also was always barfy. She did show up with severe sinus disease and pansinusitis in which we found mold in our house. That summer she came down with a severe pylonephritis and we had to do IV antx again to get her well. She continued to have stomach aches, vomiting, mouth sores and intermittent infections even on the antx and ditripan to stop the renal spasm. She also had trouble with her urine incontinence. WE did have surgery to remove one of the ureters and reimplant it on top of the bladder. IT made a tremendous difference and her fevers went away. Sooooo, it is possible it is his renal problems. still has frequent mouth ulcers, nausea and ??? reflux. but she is now 11 and we still walk through it with her on Prilosec. She also has problems with constipation and as long as we keep her going she does better instead of letting her get backed up. One thing I did not understand was the abdominal pain because when I had severe pain with Kidney stones and hydronephrosis with renal colic my pain was down low and in the back. s has always been in her tummy in the periumbilical area. I understand that this is usual for children. Hope this helps. Kidney pain is excruciating and we believe had it for many years before we found her kidney congenital defects. Guest guest
HI My only thoughts are about using homeopathic remedies... They are fab... Helios homeopathic pharmacy have a help line - qualified homeopaths and they can give first aid remedies.. should be with you next day - they also have a list of homeopaths I believe... the remedies have always been far more successful for our family than using suppressive antibiotics.. Best wishes Tracey On Sun, Nov 1, 2009 at 10:56 AM, ru345mins <ru345mins@...> wrote: Hi guys,Results from DAN a year ago said my 4 yr old son had kidney problems. He was left for 3 weeks the first time and I was told he had D & V bug until after 3 weeks they did urine test! He is now a month later with repeated symptoms and back on a different antibiotic. Still waiting for Kidney scan (referral done begining of Sept). Anyone else's child have kidney problems and what happened? Advice greatly needed. Thankyou. Guest guest
If I understand right, the vit K protocol is an alternative to the low oxalate diet.VitaminK/?yguid=300738048
Guest guest
If e.coli (which should have been tested) is the problem as it is for most uti's then D-mannose might help, possibly cranberry juice and if possible plenty of water, which hopeflly would ease the pain in passing water. Kidney infections, if this is what it is, which leaving an untreated uti can lead to, can be very painful and I think that it is disgraceful that your son was left for 3 weeks, a urine test only takes a few seconds for a Dr. or a nurse to take to see if there is some sort of infection once you have done the hard part of collecting it. Why is a 4 year olds pain less important than a doc getting off his/her back-side? and they are getting paid a good salary too. I would also chase up the kidney scan too. Guest guest
Thanks Kenny for advice. Took my boy back to gp and he still has blood in urine and 4th day on antibiotics. I have left message for Paed to cotact me so I can hopefully get scan earlier. I've got Vit K their and will look at that too. > > > > Hi guys, > > > > Results from DAN a year ago said my 4 yr old son had kidney problems. Guest guest
I wish your little fella all the best and please keep us posted on how he gets on. I hope the scan helps, it may involve an Iodine based contrast dye which some people can be allergic to, the staff involved in this procedure will almost certainly be aware of this. Sometimes when there is blood in the urine it can be caused by a urethral stricture, which may occur due to straining to wee when there is an inflammation, it is not serious especially in young children who have much better healing abilities, I believe sometimes an ultra sound scan can pick this up if the kidney scan is inconclusive. Again plenty of hydration and water should help and trying D-Mannose might help it's not expensive and worst ways it just won't do anything but will not cause further problems also alkalinizing the body might help prevent further infections and not bathing in harsh soaps. All the best Kenny > > > > > > Hi guys, > > > > > > Results from DAN a year ago said my 4 yr old son had kidney problems. Guest guest
Hi Kenny Thank you for that information on D-Mannose as I did not know and will try this whilst waiting for scan. He is on day 5 of antibiotics today and still having problems weeing (hard to wee/painful). But no further appointments with Dr to assess him. I might contact the practice manager to see if he can 'hurry' the scan, considering it was a month ago he was referred at my request which no sign of it on his medical file. I wish he did drink straight water but only drinks Rock squash or 7-up. The last DAN gave me VitK so will also look at the link on that too. I will keep you all posted. Thank you all again for advice and support. I will take him to A & E if he has not had scan by next week. > > > > > > > > Hi guys, > > > > > > > > Results from DAN a year ago said my 4 yr old son had kidney problems. Guest guest
Robin: I have been working with Drs. Gray and Hooper on this issue. Penicillium species in WDB produce ochratoxn. It is a urinary tract and kidney toxin. We have 8 cases of kidney (renal cell) cancer and another case of stage IV kidney failture. We haeve detected ochratoxin A in biopsy spedimens from all 9 cases. In addtion, we have identified Aspergillus DNA in the bioopsiies. I suggeste that you have early morning urine specimens testes for trichothecenes, alatoxins and ochratoxin. All three are kidney toxins.
