trying to find a safer school

Hi,

This is just to share my frustrations with trying to find a safer school

building for my 14 yo, I think it is mission impossible!!!!

He was initially excited about a public school with an arts program that

requires audition, that school has flat roofed 50 yo buildings, the

administrator didn't give us a full tour, but I did see water damaged

ceiling tiles in one area....it's 32 miles away, they accepted him......

The local school he refuses to go to, ancient building, probably has

mold issues, but then he was going to a public school in SF that had a

whole floor closed off due to asbestos, and who knows what other

problems existed in the building....

Just went to tour a private school in a 3 yo building on 35 acres,

everything looks beautiful facility wise about it, my son thought it

looked great, they have environmental studies program and yet that 3 yo

carpet still is offgassing, the theater just painted and stinks, and

worst of all they are WIFI thruout, issue laptops to each kid, have

" smartboards " in each classroom (so the teacher can write/draw on the

smartboard and send the drawing to each student's laptop, in other words

they are constantly radiated....

Then drove by another public school with an arts program (my son's area

of interest) and he noticed that there were 3 or 4 huge satellite dishes

at ground level right next to the art program's special classrooms...not

sure if these are dangerous or not.....but it's also in a very old brick

building that smelled stale when i walked in....

Don't have a clue what to do, he says he'd like to go to the private

school except that hed' be worrying about the EMF's all the time.........

Saw a tarot reader next to Wholefoods on the way home, told him maybe he

should get his fortune read?????

Obviously we can't keep him at home in our maybe " safer "

cocoon...........anyone have any ideas what's worse, possible mold,

nonstop wifi, satellite dishes and maybe mold..........

Wish I was just one of the 99.9999999% of the blissfully ignorant out

there where we could just look at the school program offerings and not

the health and safety issues...if I tried to tell the private school

that their wireless laptop program was harming student and faculty

health I am sure they would look at me like I was a complete idiot or

from outer space....

, have you by chance ever checked out Marin School of the Arts in

Novato, ArtQuest at Santa High or Sonoma Academy for mold/voc/emf

issues???

Thanks, Sue V.
