Guest guest
Hi My son Zeb, also just turned 15, had a full blown case of the measles after being vaccinated. I was beside myself. Our pediatrician didn't have the same reaction as yours. She was great and actually told me that it is unusual, however it does happen 1 out 2 million or something, my luck. Zeb also is not a sweet eater. I never stopped him from eating any candy, cakes pies etc. I eat his share. He also has issue with haircuts. He has gotten better throughout the years. We talk about it now for a week before he gets in the chair. The barber has never been able to use the buzzers( once only because he was going to a school dance with a date)it wasn't easy and cut the back near his neck. He hasn't been to the barber in months. He decided he was going to let his hair grow long. At 15 I am not going to debate this one. I said that I thought he was small and not developmentally on track with typical 18 month old babies. We held off this vaccine until was 22 months. He had the vaccine, 10 days later he was running a high fever of 104 degrees, was limp, had a macular rash from head to toe and his eyes looked puffy and bulgy to me. This lasted four to five days. I brought him back to this pediatrician because I was extremely concerned. I will add that the year was 1994, thermisol which is mercury was in the vaccine. The secretary in the office came to the examination room where and I were, and said that she hoped that my baby was ok. She then said that she never saw any baby have such a reaction. The Pediatrician denied that reaction was from the shot. The dr then escorted and I to the back door. he requested that we leave this way but did not say why. I think it was because was shedding measles cells. When was about two I suspected that he had autism spectrum disorders. We look back at movies of when he was about a year old, we thouyght the made better eye contact and laughed more and some other social things. So, is PDD from the vaccine or did we have Down Syndrome confused with PDD or what. We still do not know to this day. But I do follow some research and document every time with all teachers and all social workers and all doctors about what happened to when he was 22 months old. As for the doctor escorted us to the back door? Well we have a new pediatrician who I love and have stayed wth since was about 23 months old. I do not know anything about the old pediatrician and do not care to, unless we someday have a legal suit and there is more evidence. He may be called in as a witness or something. This is our personal MMR shot experience. We have had blood titers done on , he has full immunities to Measle, Mumps and Reubella. We have NEVER had a follow up shot and NEVER will. I am not against vaccines, just question why mercury or themisol is used. Mercury is very poisonous. Sarno (Wow, did I go on!)
Guest guest
now this has to be the norm for 15year olds, as my youngest is 15 (turned in november) and is not disabled, but his hair was long until christmas vacation, we put our foot down, starting to look like a girl, lol, and his hair is very thick like mine, i told him things could be living in there, lol. he was mad but with the presents around the corner he soon got over it. He has stated once or twice that the boys teased him a little about his haircut, but not now, its forgotten, hes moved on to the next mane, lol. ONe thing ive noticed nathan does last few times, he is happy to get his hair cut with dad etc, but then when it comes shower time, he refuses to wash his hair, and gets mad at me when i make him, he will put his hands on his head and state " haircut " , like he is afraid he will ruin his haircut. Ive been trying to explain to him it wont hurt it, but he hasnt quite figured it out yet. Thankfully its only the first time or two right after his haircut. shawna In a message dated 1/9/2008 11:32:34 P.M. Guest guest
that's great!! nicholas is doing better, they take their showers every other night, take turns in other words. He is finally understanding that as a teenager he stinks! lol and wears his deoderant and body spray and even combs his head of bushy hair in the morning, (even wetting it down). He is in denial of shaving though, lol, shaves every other night before his bath, and mostly just gets chin stuble and due to blond hair harder to see, but nicholas has dark brown hair and eyes and has a mustache and insists he doesnt, lol, jeesh teenagers, at least with nathan he doesn't question our motives to do things, may be a little refusal at something new but just needs to learn how to do them and then is fine. shawna In a message dated 1/10/2008 1:34:36 P.M. Guest guest
a, I gave Zeb a few conditions if he insists on keeping his hair long, 1. you must shampoo your hair each night 2. it must be combed each morning before school. He has done everything I have asked. Zeb was 15 in December.
