nathan loves to go to the barber shop with his dad and brother, has done

great for a handful of years now, but when he was little OMG!!! it would take a

sedative and 4 people to hold him down, no matter how much preparing him we

did. I am very thankful that is one behavior he outgrew, whew! shawna

Let's talk about haircuts. I've been cutting for years in '

sleep.

I've gotten very professional at it, actually. I do a nice job,

without waking the child.

I've also tried all tricks that are recommended, by all ots, pecs

people and on and on.

heheheheheh, i was almost rolling on the floor after reading this one, lol.

his barber was the same guy who DH went to all his life, first haircut and

all, you know, small rural area, lol. anyways he did a great quick buzz and

wahla, perfect. during those toddler and school aged years. He is retired now

for a while but the chick who worked with him, nathan became very acquanted

with and lets her cut his hair fine and dandy, no newbies though, lol. shawna

This brings back memories of when who is now 31 was little. He

hated getting his hair cut and would pitch such a fit and we even had one

barber

that told us not to bring him back. He also didn't like to get blood work

and it would take 4-5 of us to hold him for blood work and almost the same for

getting his hair cut. He also was a finicky eater when he was younger and is

still to some degree today. He was never listed as having any kind of

disability but I often wonder if he might just have HFA that was never dx'd.

I

remember one time when he was in the hospital and they couldn't get him to eat

and I explained he would only eat hotdogs, french fries, scrambled eggs and

he had to have ketchup on all of those and they kept refusing to bring him

ketchup or giving him scrambled eggs daily so the doctor wrote a prescription

for him to have a bottle of ketchup in his room and scrambled eggs daily for

breakfast and hotdogs and hamburger and grilled cheese sandwiches for other

meals. He does eat much more now but has traded in his ketchup for spicy

mustard now. :-) Just goes to show that even our so called " normal " kids can

have their quirks too. :-)
