My name is , my husband is Shaugn and we have two children Logan (DS/ASD) 8 and Emma 4. Logan was diagnosed with ASD at 6 yrs of age after seeing Dr. Keck. We have really struggled trying to find a place where we belong as a family, as I am sure you are familiar with. Logan almost all speech at 4, just around the time Emma was born and we moved. That year of school was a total waste, but we thought it was just the teacher as he changed schools, as well. It was a rough road, but the dx of ASD was really a blessing. We no longer feel like we are horrible parents that cannot discipline our child, etc., etc. Logan is in a self-contained class and has had an Autism Assistance dog since November of 06. Her name is Akira and she has changed our lives. Logan sleeps better during the night and is more independent and safe in public. I know this sounds silly, but finding this group is awesome!
