Guest guest
Hi Sara, I always pictured Elie to be fair. I expect that Zeb will have to shave everyday by next year.He tolerates that small shaver but not for long. He is so jumpy when I am near his face or head that I am actually afraid to try a real razor. He can use the electric shaver himself. I never heard of men shaving their backs so much for living outside of my bubble. He sweats but never smells. He always looks unkept regardless of how he dresses. I took him to the dr on Tuesday. He fell in the driveway on the way to the school bus and hurt his back. We haven't been for at least six months. Zeb lost 22 lbs. I am thrilled. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 15 DS/OCD/ASD? He probably should shave every day, BUT since he will only alow shaving in the bath and he bathes avrery other day, that's when he shaves as well. Interesting that he rarely sweats and has no body odor. No deodorant or body spray or powder. Also, he soaks clean in a bath of bubbly non-soap. HE can't stand washclothes or nylon scrungies. I do shampoo him - again, he would not touch his hair to wash. We use coal tar shampoo - great odor- for his psoriasis which ended the dandruff problem immediately. (non-prescription OTC) . And I shave him with a gillette sensor 3 blade which lasts about 25-30 times. HE will not use an electric razor, a battery razor - guess the vibration bothers him. we do not shave his bakc - altho I know some people do that, I actually like his body hair. Guest guest
Sara, that is great that Elie will walk on the treadmill. We had a treadmill for a few years. Zeb and I both hate it, boring. It does everything other than talk. My dh bought it and used it twice. The first time he used it Zeb was watching and pushed the fast button on him. He almost fell. It's not funny but I am still getting a chuckle when I think about it. Zeb has occasionally used it since but it's just not a favorite without tv or something to do other than watched your track screen. Zeb has changed his diet with the lactose issue and is eating more fruit. He also will pile wood with my dh. It's a very hard work. Zeb has been able to stack a cord at one time without constant direction. I think with the weight loss he has more stamina and energy. I am hoping he will lose another 20 lbs. He is still fat. Zeb's back is hairy too. I think I will just make sure he keeps his shirt on and forgo the shaving. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 15 DS/OCD/ASD? Not as much as he did for the therapist, nor as fast as she had him walking, but at least it is something everyday. I have been told that men as hairy as Elie usually shave their back! My dad was also very hairy on his back (even after he was bald on his head), but he never did. > Hi Sara, > I always pictured Elie to be fair. Guest guest
Our deal with Elie is part of his whole week of star days carried over from h/s. With a week of star days, Friday nite is ELie night - we go out to eat and either shopping or to a movie. Thus the treadmill - when he comes home from his day center, he walks on the treadmill. He could watch tv, a movie but he doesn't need that. HE will walk about 20 minutes with nothing but the flashing screen which says how long he has walked, calories burned, mph. He just walks. I am trying to get into it, but even with a movie on, after 10 minutes or so, I am sooooo bored I cannot stand it. But we all are trying to lose weight. As to the hairy back, I think it is cool. I see no need to cover it up or change it., No wonder he is never cold - he carries his own pelt! > Sara, that is great that Elie will walk on the treadmill. We had a > treadmill for a few years. Guest guest
Hi Sara, I think walking the treadmill for a specific amount of time and a reward may be something I may use for Zeb. It's worth a try. My luck he will want to get paid. I try to have Zeb keep a shirt on if people are here. He doesn't look so hot with the gut hanging and the hairy back. Guest guest
Elie went outside on the deck to spend his " sundowner " time. But he had on a wifebeater and knit boxers, bare feet. IT was 40 degrees with a north wind blowing. After 10 minutes he came in saying it was cold. We laughed and told him to get his coaat and some socks and shoes - he gave us the " No way " . sign and went back to his bedroom. > heeh what is it and boys wanting to take their shirt off, lol. is > > proud of his body, lol, and will gladly show it it off.
