Guest guest
Sara. Thank you so much for your experienced calm and advice. I just woke up....one of the advantages of j being sick is it's the only time she wants to hold my hand and keep me close. She's still hot and sleeping....but not burning up as before. Perhaps shaking was the wrong word to use...I've seen her go thru chills and fever and shaking ie after her 1/2 a flu shot. But I've never seen anything like this before. Her eyes did roll way back and her neck snapped back and it was only her left arm, hand and side really that were jerking spasmodically. That's why I wrote to everyone...all that discussion of seizures recently and of course I pay no attention. Sheesh. And I did mistype...she only had 2mg of melatonin. So is it actually true as our doctor (no special experience with DS or Aut...just jamie) said that a fever cannot cause a seizure in an adult? even one as wierd as ? I also have no real idea what these steroids (Entocort) are doing to her system. So maybe she'll wake up with a mild fever and begin speaking in sentences and all of a sudden be totally sociable?? Nah, didn't think so. We will definitely get an eval and again thanks for the calm. Sherry
Guest guest
A left side seizure (as opposed to shaking) means something was going on in the right side of her brain. Spasmodic tightening and releasing of muscle is more likely a seizure. I have seen adults have a seizure during a fever over 104-105. But not before that. Definaately make an apoointment for a neuro check. Also, even if it was a seizure, it resolved itself, so there would not be emergency treatment. You have time. Take a deep breath. > Sara.
