Guest guest
Hey . Glad you are enjoying the sprout patties. Take care, Sproutingly, Melody > > Hello Everyone, Wow its been hard to keep up with all the convos. but I realy enjoy them. I just feel bad I cant chim in as often as I would like! > > Anyway I had an idea hit me the other day and I was wondering if anyone else has thought of this. > > and I had to go to another town to see our Dr.'s and while we was there we checked out some other health food stores to see what we could find sprout/seed wise. Well afterwards I was hungry so we stoped at a restaurant that I had been wanting to try(the only time we ever get to go out to eat) It was Japanese. While eating an eggroll, it dawned on me that I could prolly get the same flavor but be much more healthy if I grew the sprouts to make the egg roll instead of shredding the full grown veggies. Most egg rolls are made from cabbage carrot garlic onion and a few other spices + meat, So Im thinking make a healthier version with sprouts and no meat. Has anyone else tried this before and what did you think. > > Melody, we have started eating sprout patties and have fallen in love with them. At first the 1st batch right outta the pan we didnt care for to much, so we put them in the frig. well the next day I got them out determined I was going to try them one more time before writting them off. Well I let them crisp up and took a bite, hubby did as well. Next thing we new they was all gone and we was wanting more...lol So now that had become something that we make alot of the past week! > > We now have sunnies, peas and corn sprouting along with our normal sprouts. Found a great deal on some seeds in the other town and so we are having fun. Still looking for some cabbage sprouts So I can try the the egg roll ordeal. > > Our local walmart was having a clearance on a few of there organic veggie seeds a couple weeks back, so we picked up a few packages. Got some onion, carrot and celery to try, well although they didnt have much in them, wow does the onion pack a punch! Tiny but full of onioney flavor and the carrot was mild, celery was a strong taste of Celery as well So we will be looking to get some of these as well. I agree the onion is expensive, but it doesnt take as much and your not going to eat just a onion sprout salad so they will go much further so an investment on them will last a while. > > I read the deal about the buckwheat and got worried cause I am making that granola that I posted about. But Im not too worried anymore cause most of what I have read and done with them only lets them sprout a tiny tale if that, so there not greened up. More like soaks then a sprout. But will keep an eye out. We live at a High elevation of over 7thousand feet, so the while the temps only average in the 90's and maybe a day or 2 in the hundreds per year, the intensity of the sun is a different scenario. It is very intense and you can " BURN " within minutes so I will keep an eye out, but not to stressed over it! > > Love all the great info here! Thanks everyone! > >

Guest guest
Oh that sounds good, ty!!  Want to understand the Bible better?  FREE  studies.  For more info Just ask! ________________________________ To: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > Sent: Wednesday, June 6, 2012 3:49 PM Subject: Re: Checking in and Egg rolls...  Some spring rolls or egg rolls have noodles in them, like the celophane ones and some might have low mein. You can use mushrooms in small slices to substitute for meat. I like bok choy so I think I'd use that even with othr sprouts.   Good luck on that and when you have a good mixture, let us know.  Here is one you might like, listed below. I also found a quinoa stuffed tomato. That sounded interesting too and they said it was good. If you want it, let me know and I'll paste it in here. Carolyn Wilkerson Summer Sauté Seves 6 Quick cooking is the secret to this side dish's super-fresh taste. Guest guest
- which begs the question, why do we need to buy specifically " sprouting seeds " vs. regular seeds? I've noticed in many cases there are varieties much more readily available as organic garden seeds than as organic sprouting seeds. For some varieties there are only one or two (or no) sources available on internet, but regular organic varieties are available from garden seed suppliers. I do remember somewhere reading an explanation, but don't remember what it was and couldn't find anything with a quick search. Are all you seeds still doing OK? Dona > > No they was seeds for gardening, but they was organic so I tried them. They normaly was like $3 dollars a pack but was on sale for 20. cents a pck so I figured what the heck, only got about 50 seeds in them but they do pack a big punch for flavor! > > Â > Want to understand the Bible better? > Â FREE Â studies. > Â For more info Just ask! > > > > ________________________________ > > To: sproutpeople > Sent: Wednesday, June 6, 2012 2:17 PM > Subject: Re: Checking in and Egg rolls... > > > Â > Hi - > > Re the seeds you bought at WalMart - were they sprouting seeds? > > Dona > > > > > Our local walmart was having a clearance on a few of there organic veggie seeds a couple weeks back, so we picked up a few packages. > > > > >
Guest guest
That's too bad...but thanks for clarifying the situation. There are so many gardening seed companies!!
