Guest guest
I went from a 6 to a 9.5 in overall struggling in the month that I did not know I cracked the head on my engine. There was a smell that was giving me terrible headaches. I did not do anything about it at first because one month before I noticed an antifreeze leak at home and the shop checked it out the next day and either could find no problem or fixed the little problem, I can't recall which. So I was in denial for awhile then I could not afford to take it in. When I finally bit the bullet I learned the head cracked, but it never overheated, which apparently it should have in order to crack. So I got a new used engine. About 2 weeks into the smelly rides to work and sick headaches, though, I started getting strange neurological symptoms in heavily perfumed offices at work. My exhaust began to rule my life and yada yada yada. I have been to numerous doctors and health care practitioners, all of whom have found something helpful and I have built a foundation of health back up. Unfortunately I am not 100% of where I was, but certainly much better and finding answers. God has blessed me richly with good medical care (seeing an env illness MD who practices functional medicine, studied with Sherry Rodgers, knows Dr. Rea and studies Dr. Shoemaker and various other detoxifying specialists. He gets the mold thing. But I wonder if anyone out there has had similar issues with antifreeze leaks. Now a different mech noticed some antifreeze dried on the bottom of something and it could be left over from that, or it could be a new leak, though I see nothing leaking. If I don't see any new leaks how concerned should I be with the dried on antifreeze, bear in mind I just sunk a lot of money in it and planning to keep it for 4 more years to pay off. I know keeping it isn't everything, but I could go into more debt with a new car and have something else go wrong with it. We live in a fallen world. At some point we have to confront the problems, and at some point it is wise to cut our losses. I would like to be able to evaluate that threshold for my own situation. This is by far not the only issue, I am working on others as well, just something that recently came to mind. I believe in flushing out every idea that comes to mind, no matter how trivial it may seem at first. Just think that is wisdom. Any tips? I am interested in knowing the pros and cons, extremes included, of keeping the car so I can make wise decisions in the future. Is there any way to get it clean w/o polluting it with a cleaner? Will be purchasing a carbon-based air purifier for it in a bit.
