Guest guest
Jayne, The snow sounds lovely! Sun is shining here in CA and it's about 43 F. I don't know how things work in Maine with the wrap around support, but I pray that you get the most time offered. (My son gets nursing support here in CA to the tune of 40 hours a week authorized, but due to nursing shortage has been cut back to 16 hours a week...) Prayers for you and your husband as he sets off for a fourth tour. You make me thankful for a husband who is home. I know what you mean about those moments of " normalcy. " They don't come often enough, but make you very grateful when they do come. Happy New Year... here's to more moments of normalcy...good supports for you and your child(ren)...AND for safety for your hubby! Hugs, Donnell Jayne Hickey wrote: Donnell, I think this is something we all struggle with. I know I do! It's so hard to divide the time between them all equally. My husband leaves for his 4th tour in Iraq on Saturday and I'm already starting to wonder how I'm going to make it all work. I know it will, it always does and the best part is that I should have some wrap around support shortly! I'm waiting on the State to say just how many hours of support I can have! Things have gotten so much more difficult in terms of going out with . Although I must say he and I went out the other day to Dick's sporting goods and Gap and to exhange some things and he was so good!! He was in his stroller and I didn't push him to go to more stores. When we were finished we went to Panera where he got a grilled cheese kids meal and I enjoyed a Chai Latte and a yummy cookie! Of course when we came home the caca hit the fan and he had clearly reached his limit! But I do so treasure those moments of " normalcy " if you will - when you can just go out to run and errand and it goes smoothly! Happy New Year all! Jayne Donnell Kenworthy wrote: 15. Guest guest
Us too!! Holly Jayne Hi, Everyone....Jayne...I, too, was surprised that he was being sent over for the 4th time. How would you and he feel if you gave us his address so that some of us could 'adopt' him and his troop to send goodies to? My cousin was over in that area 3 times and really appreciated all the junk food I sent him. I don't know anyone over there now, so I would love to send him and his troop goodies. Take care, Everyone. Guest guest
Happy New Year everyone! My husband and I have caught the cold that started with , moved through our two older kids and has now come to rest with us! It's hit my husband a lot harder than me - we're hoping for a quick recovery as he leaves Saturday. Thank you to those of you that have sent well wishes in regards to 's deployment. I have shared with him your emails and told him what a great group of friends I have here! I know he is touched by your kindness - you guys are great! As soon as he receives his address, I will forward it to those of you that would like it. I know he will appreciate the mail. (His wife is not the best at keeping in touch via the post office! I'm hoping to be much better this time around!) I'm so lucky to have such a great group of friends, I love our little neighborhood on the www! Guest guest
I am so glad that he was able to be home for the holidays - that was always the worst time for us when my dh deployed. So sorry he leaves for the " activities " in that part of the world. Will be thinking of all of you. > Happy New Year everyone! Guest guest
Hi , My husband is in the Air Force, 20 years of fun and excitement! Hurlburt Field - AF as well! My husband is stationed at Hanscom AFB, MA but we live in Maine. We moved here 15 months ago as this is home for us and we're at the end of our AF career. We wanted the kids to get some roots here before they grow up! LOL! will be gone for six months this time. This is his 4th time to Iraq and probably his 12th deployment! We did the 10 month tour when the war started back in 2003, we were stationed at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota and he was still flying the B-1B then. My husband is deploying with an Army unit out of Ft. Bragg, NC this time. He will be staying at Camp Victory in Baghdad this time. Where is your husband going? What does he do in the AF? Is this his first deployment? Feel free to write me off list if you feel more comfortable, jacksonsmom99@... I know you are feeling many of the same feelings I am. Let us all know about your husband so we can keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers as well. Glad you wrote! Jayne wrote: *Sara *- Just cathcing up on emails and saw that your husband has deployed. May I ask how long he will be gone and what Branch he serves? Guest guest
Brings back memories! Bob was deployed 70 % of 6 years when my kids ranged in age from 6-6 wks until they were 12- 6yrs. Then he got out and we all - together went to Israel for 7 years. When we returned, Bob decided that he would enter the reserve to finish his last 5 or so years to get his 20. Ended up doing 21 plus some months and days. AF for 4 years before we married and then Navy for the rest. Fortunately for us he was in for Vietneam but was stationed in OKINAWA and for the Persian Gulf " thing " he ended up in Va Beach!!! But we also were in Israel for the War in LEbenon in '82 and Bob did the reserves for Israel as well. > Hi , > My husband is in the Air Force, 20 years of fun and excitement! Guest guest
Hey, My a (10) also has hips problems. I noticed it when she was sitting on my lap, i could actually feel her bones moving around. I called the Dr. and needless to say, she got her in to see a orthopedic. They took xrays and they watch her closely. She is suppose to wear a Rhino Hip brace, but she knows how to take it off and will not wear it. She has learned to readjust her hips though. If she gets up to fast, she will walk with her butt stuck out for a little while then she will stand up straight and somehow, readjust herself. They explained to me that her hip sockets were loose, and they slipped in and out of socket. No cure!!!! Stella (a's mom 10) > > Ben is 23 YO, 5'2 " , but more importantly, how WIDE is he?!?
