Guest guest
Carol, that is too cute. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 15 DS/OCD/ASD? I asked the teacher to bring her laptop down to the meeting so that I could demonstrate the new communication board. When we finished the meeting the teacher went upstairs to tell the TA to get Trisha ready to leave with me to go home. Well I waited and waited and no Trisha after about 10 mins I saw one of her team members and asked what the hold up was. He went to check and came back saying Trisha was sitting on the floor refusing to get ready to leave. I asked if he wanted me to go " motivate " her to get ready and he said not yet that he wanted the TA to learn to work around one of these " moments " . Well I waited about 15 more mins and the same team member came and said she isn't here yet? As he was getting ready to go check on her again it dawned on me that we had her laptop and she usually packs it up each afternoon to come home so I asked him to take her laptop to her. Shortly afterwards here she comes with her TA and sure enough she was not leaving until she got her laptop back. lol Her TA also wrote a note saying that without her computer in class Trisha refused to work. She was calm and even laughed some but was not able to focus or follow her schedule. Once the computer was returned she jumped up to change and go home. The TA said when they got downstairs see I told you mom was here didn't you believe me and Trisha in her normal old self said one of her favorite words. Nooooooooo! lol Carol Trishasmom She isn't typical, She's Trisha! **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi Carol, Totally agree, love how Trisha is displaying interest towards one of her valuable tools/learning style that has motivated her, stays engage with which she learns best and most of all " when possible " using it as her " Voice " . Glad this behavioral standpoint was not overlooked and you were able to figure out Trisha's behind the scene communication moment.
