well we had our meeting today, to discuss nathans eval and goals for the

workshop. And he more than surpassed the first goals we tried out when he

started there in october. they have had no behaviors at all. he works the entire

time, no wandering or anything, when they can only get 20-30minutes at school

they've had him work for an hour straight without difficulties at the workshop.

he gets there looks at the board for his name and area assigned to without

any problems then goes to his area and sits and waits for his job. They said

he understands everything they've tried, even yesterday a completely new

project and they explained it once and he was able to perform job perfectly.

Now

we are setting his goals to ask staff for help when needed not his associate,

and are transitioning him to just workshop staff starting in feburary. His

associate will still be in the building (safety net) and then if he gets out of

sorts etc she can appear and help him as needed. If they need someone on

Wednesday (school gets out here at 2 every wednesday) they will just call me as

im only a few blocks away. This will lets us know if he will be able to

handle a little work this summer with just the workshop staff. And he is

learning

to be more social skills too, starting to chat and have more repore with his

coworkers. I was literally glowing at this meeting, as were all the others.

more than surprised us all. I think i will take him out for pizza hut

tonight to celebrate his working hard. shawna
