Guest guest
Honest to God, I don't know why people have to react so spastically instead of either 1) ignoring questions they've seen over and over again or 2) explaining, gently. I'm sorry you're feeling stressed; I understand that feeling, perfectly. And I can see where you are coming from with these questions. People don't just leave mildew and mold on their window frames or tile grout, they clean it, so isn't that killing mold, and why can't you clean other mold, etc....I can see where you're going with the questions, and there is a line of reasoning in there that, when you don't have information to fill in the blanks, seems logical. And it's not just commercials that create the confusion--as someone else (you perhaps?) pointed out, sources like the Canadian government talk about cleaning mold, and you'd think a government would ensure that it has the best information. Heh. When I'm cleaning tile with mold or mildew, I clean with vinegar, baking soda, etc. I don't clean in order to kill the mold or mildew. I clean it because washing it away removes it. And I use vinegar and etc. as a preventative, to inhibit new growth of mold and mildew. So I'm removing and inhibiting at the same time when I clean with these items. I don't know if bleach inhibits. I know it's toxic, and I know it does kill some spores, but dead spores are still spores that can allergenic and toxic. Plus, when spores are dead, they no longer have the slime and etc. that covers them, so they can easily lift off a surface and disperse into air--bad news. An infestation on, in particular, non-porous items, requires a different approach--there's lots of it, it's toxic, and removal is best left to people in hazmat suits. There are some things I don't understand, like how mold travels through a specific (my) building, how spores that are invisible become the black or green or white or pink (I know it has to do with the chemicals, including mycotoxins, they produce, but that's about it), and etc., but you can bet your life I'm not going to ask those questions here, though at first I tried. Guess I know why they didn't get answered! > > Am I the only new member feeling slammed right now? How many new members are out there? > > I am not asking about KILLING MOLD INSTEAD OF REMOVING THE SOURCE.. I was asking about CLEAN UP when MOST PEOPLE USE ANTIFUNGALS INCLUDING MOST E-X-P-E-R-T-S. > > Who the heck is the EXPERT to TRUST? > > I GET IT. DONT KILL THE MOLD but at the same time as I asked.. when you have Aspergillus Fumagatus and would that possibly be an exception to the holy rule? > > And is NO KILLING of MOLD such a sacred rule that you cant use antibacterial, antifungals (Im personally talking natural) when cleaning a BATHROOM with GROWING MOLD? Or do you gut the bathroom? > Or AS I ASKED.. is there ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE? > > GOD.. this is stressful. I feel like I walked into a war zone. > > Robin
