Guest guest
do you guys remember that little movie called " educating peter " on HBO. About a boy with DS who started inclusion in third grade. Now ,last night, as I was on call and ofcourse couldn't sleep, they showed " Graduating " It was the same boy, over a little of 6th grade and middle school and high school and ofcourse him going through graduation. Some things really hit home on there, I really felt sorry for peter, he had no friends until his senior year, then he had the soccer team at least. Sat alone at lunch. My little nathan guy never sits alone, never has. But as far as activities go, he attends some, if one of us take him, maybe I will see more about dances or something, he has been last year to one dance, i sat up in the bleacher and just kept an eye on him. They have only had one dance so far this year, and we had other plans so he couldn't go. We do take him to the occasional home basketball game, but as he is still in junior high, we havent been to lots of them. The junior high games are rather too slow for him to watch, lol he likes a lot of action. Another thing I didn't get as he still couldn't tie his shoes, and his mom seemed to appear as to hate doing this, why not just get some slip on tennis, nathan has been wearing them since they came out, sketchers and a few other brands make them, or at least some velcro shoes, I know they have been around for awhile, as a Nurse I have seen at least 90% of elderly wear velcro or slip on/notie shoes. shawna **************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape. http://body.aol.com/fitness/winter-exercise?NCID=aolcmp00300000002489
