Guest guest Posted January 19, 2008 Report Share Posted January 19, 2008 Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on child proofing your home. Cole is 7 and the baby proofing stuff does not work anymore. He loves to open the oven door (when cool) and stand on it to get to things in the higher shelf he does the same with the diswasher door. I am afraid he is either going to bend the door and break it, or that the whole thing is going to come off the wall and crush him underneath. I have tried re direction so many times and he is not getting it. as I continue to work on appropriate behavior I'd love to be able to lock these appliances so he can't get in them. The two baby proofing items I used have done nothing to detur him in his efforts to climb. I am also looking for a microwave that may lock, today while at the store, he decided to start the microwave and cook nothing, well my husband came into the kitchen when he heard a pop and noticed our microwave was on fire! No damage to the house thank God, but now I need a new microwave. Any suggestons would be so appreciated, I am starting to fear for his safety and the safety of our family.
