Guest guest
Hi, Everyone........go with your motherly instincts. Sounds like has a very rigid schedule already. If he wasn't doing anything, now, then I would say get him involved, but jeeeeeeesh......he is a 4 y/o!!! ....if Cole is smart enough to lower doors to reach other items, then he is 'smart' enough to understand the word 'no.' Yes.....ADHD may play a role in his behavior, but perhaps you could have a footstool in the kitchen and teach him to use it. Does he understand the words " BIG CRASH!!! " Act out for him that Cole will have a 'big crash' if the doors break and he falls to the floor. Then, show him how to use the stepstool. Gareth was a master Houdini and climber, too. He did not understand danger at that age, but he did know from the tone of my voice when I said 'no' that he was in deep doo doo!!! Take care, Everyone.
