Guest guest
We used STEPS TO INDEPENDENCE ......byBaker, et al. The gudance in this book helped us work out a directed plan for everyone to follow, using a functional analysis model. This means, we started with a base line(where we were, and then worked from there. For our son, that meant beginning with every 30 minutes. (bowel training) until we got results in the appropriate place, then 2 hours, then 3 hours. IT took until he was pst 14 for mostly clean, until 15 when i stopped sending but one set of clothes to school. Before I used the method detailed in this book, I was getting no where and both he and I were frustrated - and you don't want to know what the school had to say on this topic . We had weekly " Feces Meetings " , because the school wanted me to carry a pager so I could come to school to change him!!!! > I am curious about the success of toileting our children. Guest guest
Steps to Independence is a fabulous book! When you read it, take note of the process and apply what works with your child to other areas as well. I highly recommend this book.
