Leonard Crain of the Columbus BBB cites " Pure Kleen Restoration " as a company of which to beware. It has received grades of `F' in Columbus, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Pineville, North Carolina. It also received a grade of `C' in Daleville, Virginia. Crain said companies like this one may advertise air duct cleaning deals that are too good to be true, perhaps offering a senior citizen discount. According to Crain, this is an effort to get in your front door and try to convince you that you need to take action immediately to remove mold in your home. Fake mold detection kits, in some case, may be used, Crain told News 3. Advertisements of their kind can pop up in newspapers or direct mailers. News 3 called several numbers listed for " Pure Kleen Restoration, " but the lines were busy. Crain said the community should watch out for similar companies using high-pressure, upselling tactics. He recommends always getting a second opinion for mold remediation services, which can run up to about $5,000. Do your homework, Crain says, which can start by checking out a business on bbb.org.
