Guest guest
Hi, I am new around here. I have a son who is 15, he was diagnosed with autism when he was fourteen. Sort of late but maybe not. I always knew he had something else and said he was on the spectrum. No one was willing to gove that certain dsas code though. We finally had a teacher who frustrated me soooo much that I packed up and brought him to Dr Capone and had the everything tested for . We were sked and answered thousands of questions. Seems has Down Syndrome, social anxiety disorder and a form of PDD. I feel so validated and is now receiving lots more help and understanding. I want to make t shirts that have DSAIIC on them. We are doing lots better and is doing well. What a relief! I no longer feel so lonely. Our big struggle is fonding an appropriate high school setting for our son. We live in Chester Cty, PA and are working with the IU but want to seek other info. The problem for is that he is quiet and does not have lots or any abberant behaviors that some kids with autism have, but for sure he has everything else that kids with autism have. He may fall through the cracks due to his quiet nature. We have become pit bulls for his defense, not lots of info or full support groups out there for both diagnoses. Got any ideas? I am looking for ideas or any input. Sarno
